What do you do if you find things?
Poll incoming. Multi choice.
I found a Samsung phone in the little park this morning. Was in the grass but the case was red so it caught my eye immediately. Waited a while, and thankfully they came back for it. They were so delighted nobody had taken it. I found a purse on the bus last year and gave it to the driver, hopefully it reached its owner. I've found a phone in the past, on a bench in Blackpool. Was able to ring the number attributed to Dad, and he came and got it. Never said thanks but hey ho. Maybe had been very stressed. Have you found things? |
I can't remember the last time I found something like that, I'd probably put a post on our villages notice board if I found something there though

I found a brand new Iphone not so long ago. It was next to a car with Estate agent livery so I called the business and low and behold one of the girls had lost her phone - so I put it under the window wiper on the far side away from the road and the girl came and got it.

Someone handed a phone into me at my office once. I put a post on the local Facebook group but the owner rang it before she saw the post and came and collected it.

I found a phone once. Luckily whoever lost it was phoning it from another phone. Told them where I was and they realised they’d dropped it outside their house.

FB seems to get very good results with regard to reuniting lost items with their owners, not found anything in a while, found 20 quid on the street once, no one around so me and my friends when and had a meal with it, long time ago now obvs
|
One day I might try and find the owner, another I might keep it.
|
I once found a phone while walking Doggo through the cemetery. I couldn't unlock it and it didn't have an ICE, but the owner's mum phoned, so I was able to get it back.

…like Cherie, I haven’t found anything for a little while but I have friends who have lost things and mostly they’ve made their way back to them through the thoughtfulness of the finders…so I guess that something I do find is that there are still many great people out there, despite what media’s sometimes relate to us…

I've never been in this situation tbh.

I found an Andrew mobile phone a year or so ago .. no password so had a look in photos to see if I recognised anyone ( didn’t ) then had a quick look in videos ( couple of sex gifs) … Redway would have feinted LOL
Finally look through contacts and rang MUM …she sent her son around to collect it Cheeky beggar barely thanked me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

As a side note… being candid ( word of the day ) LOL If it was a newish model iPhone later than my ‘spare’ iPhone then I would have kept it as my spare Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Regardless, that would be pretty bad form, to keep someone's phone like that |

Well I got no thanks at all for finding the last owner soooooo I answered candidly… to be fair my response was probably influenced by my current negative/ depressed/ anxious state of mind Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well that was a figure of speech .. zero thanks were given - he barely spoke .. You are being a tad provocative I feel When you take the time to contact a stranger to do them a favour you do expect a few kind words .. I had to wait in ( on edge) for nearly two hours then you have the dilemma of inviting someone to your place of residence ( not easy being practically a recluse) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
If I find cash alone, I tend to keep it, though once I found a £10 note sticking out of the change slot in a self checkout and I gave it to the person manning them incase the person before me returned. But if I found a £10 on lying on the ground I think I’d pick it up and pocket it tbh.
If I find belongings I try and find out who it belongs to and return it or if it was found in a shop, hand it in. I found a passport in a park once and searched for the girls social media and contacted her on that and returned it to her house. She was really rude about it. I was going out for the day and said I would go round that evening to drop it off once I was back from my day out and she said “I want it returned immediately” She didn’t even say thank you. |

What would you do if you were walking in say the woods and you found a carrier bag with 100K in used notes?
|
I put big bags like that safely under my bed. Nice and tidy
