25 Years since the first episode of Big Brother aired

Happy Birthday...!

Tom Swarbrigg discussing it with Vanessa Feltz on LBC as we speak

So many great memories.

To this day my fave argument is still Science vs Orlaith over the clothes horse. Sadly, all clips of it have been taken down. :(

Series 1 one was great though. Anna and Caroline made that series for me (as did Nick).

Those 2000-2006 big brother years were such a magical time and for some reason life just seemed a lot more uncomplicated back then, pre smartphones etc., probably just the nostalgia of it all

I remember one of the girls at work asking if I had watched the first episode. I hadn't and so she was telling me about it. I said "it sounds a bit ****, but I'll give it a watch tonight" and then fast forward a bit, I was booking the day of the final off as everyone came to mine for drinks, food and to watch. We did first and last episode parties for years after

…I was reading a nice article about this, this morning …updating on some of the lives of the original cast…

Craig is married with two children and he and his wife have a DIY YouTube channel…

Nick went into panto for a while, as we know and also wrote a book and did some TV presenting…he lives in Australia now…

Anna is the host of The Great Irish Bake-Off…she and Davina stay in touch and a very good friends…

Darren never got over the loss of Marjorie…I think he lives a hermit life now…

Melanie has four children and runs a vintage clothing business…

Tom runs a property business in Cornwall…

Clair and her husband own a luxury beach resort in Marbella….

Nicola is hopefully doing better and living with her daughter ….

Caroline, I’m not really sure…she has had some TV work but I don’t know any recent update …

Sada lives in South America../…she married an Argentine musician…

Andrew founded a consumer research company…

…that’s all of them, I think…the originals…

…I think that the 24 hour live-feed added so much, didn’t it..I mean the whole concept of BB was for the viewer to become BB in a way, in that we were always watching…whereas now, we have highlights which are always open to manipulation etc so it really isn’t the same concept at all…you’re right though, Kev…it was a magical time…I mean, that magic created this forum and this group of people, didn’t it…we wouldn’t have come together if it hadn’t been for a lil old TV show, which is weird is a good way…

I didn't watch the first season when it was on, I was 13. Started on bb3 and was hooked!
