How much would you spend on a bed frame and mattress

Love a good bed but not sure I would spend£5,132.44 plus 20 per cent VAT with an additional bill of £498.14 plus 20 per cent VAT for installation – a total of £6,756.70 or £3,378.35 per bed.

Would you spend almost 3 plus grand on a bed?

Crimson Dynamo 23-07-2025 05:52 PM

400

I spent £1500 on a mattress. Wouldn’t spend thousands on a bed.

As in just the bed or with mattress?

Would spend way more on the mattress. We have Purple. If we got a new bed, it would just the bottom platform and I would make a decorative headboard and attach it to the wall.

Most we have ever spent on a bed was 900 that was with an Emma mattress which are great

Cherie 23-07-2025 06:54 PM

Full disclosure the person who spent almost 7k on two beds was Angela Rayner in her Grace and Favour apartment, the previous occupant was Michael Gove, so I can understand the need to change the beds but 7K ....in a cost of living crisis, these people appear to have no understanding whatsoever of what is acceptable to the public

If the quality of the bed and mattress was excellent then I’d probably go up to £4/5k. Not £7k though.

You would pay more than Angela then, as it was 7K for two beds, at least its your own money though :fan:

It’s the one thing I will spend money on. Bed and bedding is so important. Need to have a comfortable and excellent nights sleep to set you up right for the day. And a good mattress should last ten years.

Agree but I dont think you need to spend 7K on 2 beds especially when its not your own money, the second bed is a guest bed so how often will it be used :smug:

the bed frame could be any size/cost. I had a 4 poster at one time which wasn't cheap, but it's not really necessary for a good nights sleep
