Taylor Swift announces 12th album
Taylor Swift has announced her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, set for release on October 3, 2025. The date choice is deliberate, with the numbers adding up to Swift’s well-known lucky number 13. The album was written and recorded in Sweden during breaks on the European leg of her Eras Tour. Swift has reunited with long-time collaborators Max Martin and Shellback, the team behind reputation, 1989, and Red. The project marks a return to upbeat, polished pop following the introspective tone of The Tortured Poets Department. The Life of a Showgirl embraces a theatrical, cabaret-inspired style, with a visual identity built around feathers, sequins, and a bold orange colour palette. The album artwork features Swift in a crystal-embellished outfit while submerged in a bathtub, with a dramatic short black bob hairstyle. The 12-track album features no additional “vault” songs. The complete tracklist is as follows: 1.The Fate of Ophelia 2.Elizabeth Taylor 3.Opalite 4.Father Figure (George Michael cover) 5.Eldest Daughter 6.Ruin the Friendship 7.Actually Romantic 8.Wi$h Li$t 9.Wood 10.CANCELED! 11.Honey 12.The Life of a Showgirl (featuring Sabrina Carpenter) Swift announced the project during an appearance on the New Heights podcast, hosted by Travis and Jason Kelce. The episode broke viewing records and drove significant online discussion. Pre-orders are available now for vinyl, cassette, and CD editions, the latter including a poster. Industry expectations are high, with early indicators pointing toward another major commercial success for the artist. |

Does she have a Real Drummer Real Bass Player Real Guitarist Real Piano and Electric keyboard player & Real Percussionist. |

Yes. She tours with a full live band and has done for years. Her core lineup includes a drummer, bassist, guitarist, keyboardist, and additional multi-instrumentalists. They’re on stage with her for every major tour, including Eras. Even in heavily produced pop tracks, the live arrangements are played by the band. |

Dua Lipa also has a fabulous live backing band … Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Mr protect women’s rights there guys, reducing a woman to her looks. The rest is factually incorrect. |

Dua LIPA is more an adults pop act and Swift is more for kids that seems to be true Also Lipa is current, Swift is more yesterday's news But I know she has fans in the USA and in India/Pakistan area |
"Some fans have interpreted comments made by Dua Lipa in interviews as digs at Taylor
Swift, particularly regarding the personal nature of songwriting." Lol everyone and their dog knows Swift is acrimonious about all her ex boyfriends! - she would have nothing to write about otherwise  |
Yeah, because in 2025 nothing screams ‘yesterday’s news’ like breaking every touring and sales record going. If Dua’s the future, she might want to sell more than a third of what Taylor shifts on a quiet week.

80 million streams a WEEK and you’re talking crap about Mrs Browns boys :skull:

Monthly listeners (Spotify)
• Taylor Swift: ~105 million • Dua Lipa: ~65 million Total Spotify streams (lead artist) • Taylor Swift: ~56.3 billion • Dua Lipa: ~37.3 billion All-platform global streams • Taylor Swift: Over 65 billion • Dua Lipa: Over 40 billion So Taylor has about 40% more monthly listeners and roughly 50% more lifetime streams than Dua. In raw audience terms, Dua is huge, but Taylor is operating in a bigger league. |

nearly half of Swift’s fans are in their late 20s to early 40s. The rest spread across Gen X and boomers, with a smaller but still present Gen Z slice. |
Also bear in mind Taylor Swift has been having hits since 2006 so she is bound to have far more fans

Taylor Swift has 105M monthly listeners, 65B streams, a $1B tour, 12 albums, and 14 Grammys. She’s donated millions to disaster relief, education, and LGBTQ+ causes, paid her crew massive bonuses, and funds local food banks on tour. 18 years in, she’s still the biggest name in music.

I like the album artwork.

And to write and record the album during the highest grossing tour of all time too. Powerhouse

Not a Taylor fan but 12 albums is good, the people must still want more

A few of her songs are catchy but IMO 12 albums in 20 years shows lack of quality. There is no denying she's a powerhouse, no denying she works hard and no denying she's popular - but does she churn out actually good content? I don't personally think so, and I'm not sure how you can at that quantity.
It's a bit like when you go to a restaurant and there are dozens of choices. You know it's not made fresh and you know it'll be poor quality but maybe the fried chicken will taste good? Just my feelings on TayTay. |
