A German neo-Nazi will be allowed to start serving an 18-month sentence in
a women’s prison after he used a new government policy to register a change
in gender.

Sven Liebich, who has been photographed at far-Right rallies wearing a Nazi-
style uniform, will be sent to the Chemnitz women’s prison in Saxony,
according to FAZ, a German newspaper.

German prison officials have said the decision to incarcerate him at a
women’s prison was based on his registered gender, not his biological sex.

Liebich was able to switch genders via reforms introduced last year by Olaf
Scholz’s centrist coalition, which simplified the process of changing a person’s
name and gender on official documents.

I think most said it rarely happened and when it did it shouldn't be legitimate trans people who paid the price for people taking advantage of their identity but sure.

No man in living history has turned into a woman.

I'm not saying they should, I am not advocating this person be put in a woman's jail but also not advocating for legitimate trans women to be barred from women's spaces either, as you well know.

…I’m so, so confused…so this person was sentenced in July 2023 to an 18 month prison sentence without parole…and then at the end of 2024 had their gender entry in official records changed from male to female and changed their name under Germany's Self-Determination Act…/…so this happened while in prison serving the sentence/or immediately after they came out …and is this now another sentencing or…?…/…or that 2023 sentence has still yet to be served and this is it…?…this is confusing…

Why do you only post news articles about the crimes of migrants and trans people but never about the countless crimes of white straight men?

Not sure what they laws are there maybe he was bailed while on appeal, but he appealed his sentence and lost and then changed gender, or perhaps the original sentence was suspended and he will now serve time

Liebich confirmed this in a post on X. "I will begin my prison sentence as scheduled," she said. "On August 29, 2025, at 10pm, I will arrive at the Chemnitz correctional facility with my suitcases."
