What was TiBB like in 2006?
To those of you who were active at that time, how was this site? I imagine much busier but I can only go by what other people have said.
I’m using BB7 as a yardstick of reference for this thread because that was the last properly good season besides this one just-gone (I do believe that last year’s B.B. was the best since then). So it’ll be interesting to know. |
It was all fields
as far as the eye could see Cherie and Neem had a teashop "The Bogs Dollox" as I recall Famed for its cream teas and Whelks They had a big sign above the door "NO Welsh" :flutter: |
Not sure about 2006 but 2008 when I joined was really busy on here. There was a lot more discussions/chat threads/games etc (we were still on the old server and PM’s were called U2U’s iirc).
There was also a lot more drama though, some of it funny but some of it spiteful. But it was also a lot more fun on here. Everyone was younger so I guess also had more free time. I do miss old TiBB sometimes and all the members from 2008 who no longer frequent here. :( |

Sticks too. |
I feel like we have a lot of members from 2008-2012 who stuck around but hardly anyone from pre-2008 stuck around. Even when I was new in 2010 it seemed most active members were from 2008/9
Z was one of the members from that era who stuck around a long time |

I imagine a lot of this forum’s popularity is hinging on Big Brother itself being a hit, something it hasn’t really managed to consistently be this side of BB7. Obviously, we talk about everything on here, but we only know that from being enclaved to this site and seeing how different discussions pan out. The main pull for someone not that familiar with this forum would be Big Brother itself. And it just hasn’t been as popular since the mid.-noughties. |

Now it's more like people's profile have an unspoken Social Credit score attached to it. If you go too far off the beaten path, you might end up with a hate mob or worse, made to disappear and your body buried out somewhere far away probably in the desert. |
