The saddest woman in Britain?

From the SUN.

LOUDMOUTH Carole Vincent was so determined to get on Big Brother that she auditioned for it EIGHT YEARS in a row.

Roly-poly Carole, 53, has been grilled by BB’s tough selection panel every year since the programme was first aired in 1999, The Sun can reveal.

And every time she has worn the same hand-painted white cape in a bid to impress them.

The cape has a picture of Carole in the BB diary room on the back and the words “Old is the new cool” on the front.

And after seven years of failure she finally got on the show this time.

But even her own family are at a loss to explain why she was so desperate to get inside TV’s most famous goldfish bowl.

Carole’s daughter Ebony, 26, said: “We just have no idea why mum has been so keen to go on Big Brother.

“I have asked her so many times why she wanted to get on so badly but I just haven’t got a clue.

“But I know it’s not for the fame — she is just not that sort of person.”

Carole lists her occupation as a young people’s sexual health and HIV worker, but she is currently unemployed.

Her family think that — unlike fame-hungry younger contestants — she may have a loftier motive for appearing on the programme.

Cousin Jo McGregor, 40, from St Ives, Cambs, said: “I think one of the reasons for going on may be that she is using it to help her in part of her work.

“She helps young people coming out of prison and I am sure that one of the reasons she wanted to do this was to see what it felt like to be confined.”

What a bra-vado ... she's been entertaining

In her audition Carole told BB producers she thought she would be able to comfort housemates who were broken-hearted.

She said: “Of all the years to be on BB, this is going to be the year I would most like to. It’s going to be a really abundant year, a fantastic year.

“It is going to be fusion, fun and fireworks. If I don’t get on this time I will be watching and voting as I always do, but if I do, I will be in it to win it.”

So far, Carole has been nominated for eviction a couple of times but always managed to stave it off and stay inside.

She is seen as the tough matriarch of the group — not putting up with any nonsense from the youngsters in the house.

The veteran campaigner has protested at everything from the Greenham Common Women’s Peace Camps to anti-war rallies.

She belongs to The Socialist Workers’ Party, George Galloway’s Respect party and the Stop The War coalition.

But The Sun previously revealed the former foster mum lives in a £350,000 taxpayer-subsidised house in Leytonstone, East London, owned by housing association the London & Quadrant Group.

Carole is separated from her husband and said she would love to find love and excitement in the house.

Im shocked

Alot of housemates have auditioned before and I don't think there is anything at all wrong with it just shows she is determined and knows exactly what she wants.
