Save Shambo!

http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/...277084,00.html

A sacred bull belonging to members of the Welsh Hindu monk community called Shambo is to be destroyed later today by DEFRA because it is suspected after tests that it MAY have TB.

You can watch is final hours live here:
http://www.skandavale.org.uk/webcam.htm

The monks who are looking after the bull are going to try and stop his killing by performing religious activity in the temple right infront of the locked room where Shambo is currently being kept. They are hoping that this petition:
http://www.wevaluelife.org/Home.aspx
will help save him. So if you would like to see him live sign it and discuss it here. :blush2:

No religion should be above the laws of this country. It should be slaughtered.

Much as I think it is sad I wonder are we petitioning for the right reasons here or just because it is an animal that we all think we have to save.

I think DEFRA should be sure before carrying out the slaughter but if it is found to have TB it poses a risk to other animals and should be destroyed.

Agree totally, if it's infected with TB then it has to be destroyed.

^I agree Sol, If it is infected i think its fair on the animal that it is humanly destroyed.

David Taylor, a vet who examined Shambo, has said, "he is a very healthy bull, with no symptoms of TB. It would be an absolute crime to put that animal down." (source wikipedia and http://www.skandavale.org/videos/video.wmv)
