Seems kinda fair really, much better than Paris' sentence.

NICOLE RICHIE has been sent to prison for four days.

Arriving to court today on the arm of boyfriend JOEL MADDEN, Nicole admitted to driving under the influence of drugs.

The judge said she was lucky nobody was killed when she drove the wrong way on a highway.

Richie, who got credit for time served, was also given three years' probation and fined $2,048.

Richie was subdued and sombre as she was lectured about her driving.

Wearing her hair in a knot on her neck and wearing a black dress, she stood before the judge and softly answered 'guilty' when asked how she pleaded to the charge.

She nodded when asked if she understood the terms of the plea agreement worked out between her lawyers and the prosecution.

Superior Court Commissioner Steven K Lubell also warned Richie that she would go to jail for a year if she violates the terms of her three years' probation.

She was ordered to enrol in a drug and alcohol program and must prove that she completed it by February next year.

Lubell told her: "You are not to drive with any measurable amount of alcohol or drugs in your system.

"You are not to drive without a driver's license."

The judge said the state Department of Motor Vehicles will decide whether to suspend her license.

Nicole, who stars with former jailbird PARIS HILTON in The Simple Life, is rumoured to be three months' pregnant with Madden's child.

^She hasn't confirmed that and that sentance is so fair, i was expecting it to be longer.

She has confirmed that she is pregnant now.

It says in the article she is rumoured to be 3 months pregnant. I read also that she has to pay all bills for her time in prison.

Richie was arrested on Dec. 12 for driving under the influence, after she was spotted driving the wrong way down a highway in Burbank. She admitted to the police that she smoked marijuana and took the prescription painkiller Vicodin.

Richie pleaded guilty last Friday, and was sentenced to four days in jail, which she has until Sept. 28 to serve.

Richie also addresses her upcoming jail time, what happened the night she was arrested for driving the wrong direction on the interstate and more and how she thinks her actions have affected those girls who look up to her.

"I have a responsibility and it's something that I did wrong, and if I could personally apologize to every single person that has lost a loved one from drunk driving I would," Richie said about her recent guilty plea. "And unfortunately I can't, but this is my way of paying my dues and taking responsibility and being an adult."
