Michael Barrymore is being considered by ITV for the next series of I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!, according to a report.

Producers are believed to be keen for the actor and entertainer to sign up for the jungle, following his success on Channel 4's Celebrity Big Brother in January 2006.

Barrymore is currently on bail after being arrested by police investigating the death of Stuart Lubbock, who was found dead at the 55-year-old's home in March 2001. He is expected to hear whether he will face action on September 10; the outcome will be the deciding factor on whether ITV offer him a contract.

An ITV source told the Daily Star: "We have been talking to Barrymore because we think viewers would be attracted to hearing what he has to say in the jungle about his personal problems and all the trauma he's had in his life. He opened up a great deal when he was in Celebrity Big Brother which is one of the reasons why he was so popular with viewers and almost won that programme."

I really really really hope this isn't true.

Same.

It was really uncomfortable watching him on CBB, and that was in the luxury of the house, I couldn't bare to watch him in the jungle.

Oh dear, he'll just back himself up with a crew of other bitter, miserable, old "men" and bully the first glamour model/page three girl who gets on any of their nerves in the slightest until they leave, then he'll start going paranoid, have multiple breakdowns, and crawl up to a popular group of young people to keep himself safe from the public votes. Just like he did in CBB.

I actually feel he needs serious psychiatric help (not an exaggeration) - imagine his erratic behaviour and bullying within the confines of a sweaty, damp, small, busy camp.
I don't even think the shows producers would allow it, especially considering the controversy over his entrance in the BB house. Plus, hasn't there been a re-investigation into the murder case? If they "let him loose" in the camp, they'll have a lot of people on their backs over it.
