My father wanted to call me Dimitry but my mother couldn't see why I shouldn't have an italian name. Finally I have a french one ! :hugesmile: But Dimitry is a wonderful first name.

Rémy is a french one, my parents didn't agree at all between an italian or a russian name. Therefore they chose a french one, my sisters have a french first name too.
In France we have the habit to have 2 middle names, the grand-fathers ones for the boys then I'm called Rémy, Albe and Josephye. Josephye is the russian one and it was popular in the 20's.

Kinda on the trend of this thread, my parents argued whether to give me an Irish name, as I'm half Irish. My dad didn't want me to have an Irish name (he's the Irish side), but my mum did!

Yep ! It means "Victory, powerful and leader".
But at the moment, my parents are asking how I will be married, like them in 3 parts (french, russian and italian) or in one part (and we have to decide which one). In fact for them, I have to marry somebody from my community...but who ? russian girl or italian one ? That's all the question for my parents lol. Fortunatly my old sister get married with a russian-talian one.
