Brian claims he never knew Shakespeare - Do you believe him?
 

Does anyone actually believe that Brian didn't know Shakespeare before entering the House?

I personally think the lie detector test was a total fake. How exactly were the housemates connected to it? It wasn't like any other lie detector I've seen before. And I doubt it's 90% accurate.

It was just a screen, and for all we know, the producers could've had a TRUTH button and a LIE button and they just hit whatever button that suited them best, that would stir things up and that would also portray the "chosen ones" in a good light.

I personally think Brian is lying, and at first I thought he was just playing a joke on his fellow housemates with the whole thing, but now it looks like he's trying to fool the public as well, and the producers are helping him.

Again, speculation, based on your own beliefs. I for one, dont know Brian. So I am gonna give him the benefit of the doubt. I know people taht dont know who shakespere is. I know french people that dont know who moliere is! I know americans who dont know shakespere either. only Brian lives in his head, and only he knows the answer to that. I dont personally see what would he have to gain, by pretending not to know shakespere. If you think about it, the only thing that it would bring is mistrust like this. So since he is a huge BB fan, I would imagine he knows how the BB public would react to that, and I dont see him pretending to not know shakespere. And Brian in general is sincere enough, that I believe him. I like to judge people based on instinct. And I think he is telling the truth

I find it hard to believe he doesn't know who he was considering some of the stuff he actually does know.

I just think he's lying about it because he has said he studied English Literature, this was also mentioned on BBLB and his school teacher was asked if he ever studied Shakespeare, to which they replied yes.

His mother has also said he knows "exactly who Shakespeare was".

And even if I didn't know any of that, I still wouldn't believe him anyway.

A teacher will never admit that their student dont know Shakespere. Its kind of embarassing. Same think goes for the mom btw, she will never admit her kid is dumb somehow, or didnt listen in school. If I am not interested in litterature, like clearly brian isnt, I can study an author and completely forget about their name as soon as I am done with it. I have read some books for academic purposes, even did well on the book report, but if you ask me now, I have no idea who the authors were. Isnt it possible that he is not interested in that kind of thing, and he will actuyally repress any memory from it. I know a few people like that, who do really good in scholl, just to get the grades, but will completely forget about it because of lack of interest. I am just saying its possible!

i'm not sure. I think he may be telling the truth because he said 'i have never felt the need to lie in here' but not sure

I dont think there is anything to gain for lying about that. If it was a lie that would make people like you more, or trust you, then I would believe he is lying. But the only think that can happen is happening, so I dont hink he is lying, he just happens to be one of the rare people who couldnt give a craap about litterature, and therefore, dont remember the authors he studied. People just dont seem to forgive him for not knowing who shakepere is, their national treasure.

they learned about shakespere doesnt mean he would remember it. Do you remember all the authors you've learned about? Especially if you dont give a rats asss.

that lie detector test was bogus. It was just done to create frictions. Do you really think Carole enjoys moaning. Who enjoys moaning. Do you really think Laim is jealous of Brian? Why would he be. Lie detector didnt mean anything. I do believe waht Brian says, because I dont see what he has to gain from such a lie, but I certainly dont believe that lie detector test!

I think he did know but he forgot. Like most people learn stuff in school and let it vanish right out of their heads. Why should Shakespeare be any difference?

Well its just a TV show! they dont have to have a real lie detector test. Just like the time machine.
The housemates should've been smart enough to know that its fake. Imean they were not connected to anything. No heart rate or anything. And the voice dont work. You can make your voice sound anyways you want, it wont determine wether youre liying or not
