Stu xxx 23-07-2003 12:20 AM

i have to disagree x I believe there are far more people in this country who against it like Cam rather than for x

radiohead 23-07-2003 12:23 AM

He wouldnt have lost the money

Romantic Old Bird 23-07-2003 10:05 AM

Nope, I can almost hear the chorus of 'Quite right too, good chap that Cameron' from the depths of suburbia.

:nono:

Only shallow people will vote against someone because they have differing beliefs to themselves. I don't believe the majority of the public are shallow. So I think it will make little difference to Cameron's chances of winning.

The RI:SE poll this morning put him on 47% and that's after his statement in the diary room......

James 23-07-2003 04:21 PM

Sadly it's likely to have no effect. :bawling:

Just look at the current odds from Ladbrokes:

Cameron
1/12

Scott
8/1

Ray
14/1

Steph
33/1

Any other contestant (?)
100/1

Scott is only one with a glimmer of hope of stopping Cameron. Get on the redial!

All bible-bashers have strong opinions on marriage and homosexuality, so Cameron's comments didn't really come as a surprise to me. It doesn't mean he's homophobic.

BusyBee 23-07-2003 07:16 PM

At least he stuck to his principles. It would have been easy to say something else, but he didnt.

Everyone to their own views - it shouldnt have an effect on whether someone wins BB or no.

AndyJK 23-07-2003 07:54 PM

I don't agree with what Cameron said, but I do admire him, as BusyBee said for speaking out honestly on the subject as opposed to giving a nice soundbite to get the gay vote.

Cameron has gone up in my estimations as a result.

James 23-07-2003 10:01 PM

He only mentioned these views when he was forced to by Big Brother, in the diary room, during a task. He's still keeping his views to himself on the outside.

I do have some sympathy for him because his opinions are probably greatly influenced by what his church teaches him.

But at the same time I think people like him probably have a pre-existing prejudice, and they use highly-selective biblical passages to reinforce their view.

peachy 23-07-2003 10:10 PM

Oh please don't vote for Cameron. It gives out entirely the wrong signals if people with such extreme homophobic views win a show like this. I despair, I really do.

bananarama 24-07-2003 05:07 PM

You should not want to punish people because they have a different philosophy on lifes matters that differ from others.

Every one is different and thank goodness for that or we would living in a world of yes sir. No sir. Three bags full sir.

If Camerons view is part of his religion then have the politeness to accept it just as you would be tolorent to other peoples religions.

Little in life is black and white it is all shades of grey. No one has a monoply on being right or wrong. We all just think we are right or wrong. None of us really know and never will. Ahhh . feel better now.
