US 'Big Brother' star feared for her life

A contestant who was evicted from CBS's Big Brother 8 on Thursday night has admitted that she feared for her life during her time in the house.

Jen Johnson, a 23-year-old nanny from California, was subjected to sexual harassment and threats of violence from fellow houseguest Dick Donato, 44, throughout her stint on the show. Despite the severity of Dick's comments, no action was seen to be taken against him by the producers, who punished Jen herself with a penalty vote earlier this week when she broke food rules.

The feud between Johnson and Donato became one of the biggest storylines of the season, though many of Dick's threats were only broadcast on the live feed rather than the show itself. However, the situation in the house was condemned by the California chapter of the National Organisation for Women, which encouraged its members to join a letter-writing campaign against CBS.

In a statement about the matter, the organisation explained: "Dick has repeatedly verbally attacked 23-year-old Jen, calling her crude names, telling her he'd like to sodomize her until she bleeds to death and that if he was wasn't in the house (and at risk of being expelled) he would like to kill her... Contact CBS and tell them allowing this kind of abusive behaviour for the sake of entertainment is irresponsible and unforgivable."

Jen was evicted from the house after 55 days in the most recent episode. In her eviction interview, she brushed off questions from host Julie Chen about whether game strategy could explain Dick's behaviour, insisting that it was "inappropriate" for any reason. Now Johnson has criticised producers for not removing Dick from the house.

"I do think Dick crossed the line several times with physical [acts] and with his words," Jen told EW.com.

"I never asked anyone to do anything about it - I just stated my own concerns about it, that I was actually fearing for my life and that I was hoping that my family wasn't going to hurt him when he got out," she continued.

Johnson now joins a jury of evicted houseguests who will decide the winner on September 18. Dick remains a contestant on the show.

In an interview with online blog The Slug, Jen added: "I obviously know that my vote will not be going to Dick, no matter who's against him, just based on the fact that he should've been kicked off the show for his violent intimidation."


That's quite sickening, that Dick should be kicked out because that's just beyond all human decency.

Jen deserved to win for the way she handled Dick the entire Season, she was always positive and didn't let him get her down. Jen is awesome, Dick is a disgrace to the human species.

I wonder if he treated his daughter Daniele in the same way he treated Jen, maybe that's why they haven't spoken for years.

They missed out that he said to her ..

"I hope you get raped in your sleep" and "I hope you miscarry all your children."

Didn't he say something along the lines of "how nice it would be to feel the bones crush in her throat as he killed her" too?

Sounds like a very nice man, I must say.

The most scary thing about this is that Dick seems to be the most popular houseguest according to Polls and stuff.. the American public love him!

Is this why BBUS haven't ejected him yet? (I don't watch BBUS so I'm not sure). I can imagine if he's a favourite then they won't want him out.

People seem to think its part of his "game-plan", which is just rubbish. So far, he has bullied Jen & Kail, two women. he also questions Jameka, a housemate, over her religious beliefs. No body in US can see that he is just a vile horrible nasty piece of scum.

As an American...I am ashamed he is a member of that house and on television. I am also ashamed that he has been allowed to continue to live in that house after everything he has done!

I agree completely. As well as that, he is only "honest" and rude to people's faces if they are female or smaller than he is, ie; if he believes someone is physically inferior to himself then he will pick on them. He goes after targets that he thinks are weak because he is a coward and a bully, and to say that his actions are "strategic" is no excuse.

He has only behaved the way he does mainly to the females in the house and a couple of smaller men.

Lauren...can you take a screenshot of that information so I can have a copy? People are trying to deny that it is legit!

The current poll on the shows official website shows Dick is still the public favorite, followed by last week's evictee Jen, and then Dick's daughter Daniele.

However, from the copy & pasted record we see that his relatives are listed.
So I went on peoplefinders.com to check they were all right, and looky what I found...

So it shows the relatives were all correct in the public records, giving it more validity.

Where as it's acceptable for Eric/Dustin/Jameka/Amber/and Jen to say that Daniele and Dick have in incestuous relationship and that they probably had sex often....but that's okay right?!?

None of it is alright. They said one vile compared to the tens of things Dick has said. In fact Eric says a lot also. He has said that he doesn't think two gay guys could ever be in a fist fight and kept telling everyone Jen is probably pregnant.

Anyway back in the day when Alison Grodner and Arnold Shapiro first took over in season 2, they were extremely strict. On about day ten they evicted houseguest after he held a very large to a woman's throat. In season 4 they evicted another guy after he threw chairs around the house, although they were never thrown near anyone. Here is video of what happened in season 2. The Chen bot looked so different.

Well threatening physical violence and doing are two completely different things. Also in regards to Scott who was kicked out for throwing chairs, there was more behind that but not many people know that and just assume it was the chair throwing that did him in. If that was the case BB6 Michael/Eric would have been Ejected, Janelle in BB7 would've been ejected for hurting James in a Veto Competition, and Evel Dick would've been ejected because of the Ice Tea incident. Scott told Big Brother that he was contemplating suicide and they didn't want him to remain in the house with Amanda if that was the case so the Diary Room and BB Producers sent him out.

I never heard that he wanted to kill himself. I thought that it was a mix of the chairs, refusing to go to the diary room, and wanting to leave.

Good point. This is cause for ejection, too bad the idiots who post of CBS' wiki-crap thing think that he should have been ejected for pouring iced tea on her which is really just water. Dumbasses.
