Sophie and Lee getting married this weekend

Big Brother couple set to tie the knot

By staff reporter

FREE Press snapper Stuart Lloyd caught Big Brother lovebirds Sophie Pritchard and Lee Davy taking a break from their wedding preparations when he spotted them in their local earlier this week.

Ex-model Sophie, 26, of Herons Place, Marlow, and Lee, 23, are set to wed this weekend in a hush-hush ceremony at a church in the town but were staying tight-lipped about the details when we spoke to the happy couple outside the Cross Keys pub, in Spittal Street, Marlow, on Monday.

However, one pub-goer told us: “They looked really good together."

The two met when they were both housemates in the Channel 4 reality show Big Brother Three last year, in which several members of the public live in a specially-built house with no contact with the outside world.

Viewers then vote on who is the most and least popular.

Bodybuilder Lee, from Leicester, proposed to Sophie when the couple appeared on the channel's live breakfast show RI:SE.

The couple were then whisked away for a weekend in Paris.

Kick-boxing enthusiast Sophie, a recruitment consultant, attended Holy Trinity Middle School, in Wethered Road, Marlow.

The marriage will be no surprise to regulars of the Cross Keys who followed the fortunes of their local girl during Big Brother and even started a Save our Sophie campaign to keep her in the house.

Congratulations to them. :hello:

This is the first UK Big Brother wedding. :spin2:

Stu xxx 08-08-2003 03:38 PM

it may be the first wedding - but oh dear Sophie and Lee - no no no :conf:

Kaz 08-08-2003 11:38 PM

Hmmmm . . . . . I wish them all the best and hope they'll be very happy together, but for some reason they just don't strike me as a 'match made in heaven'. :spin2:

Which begs the question:

Why do you think that we're all still keen to hear news about Paul and Helen, and to a slightly lesser extent whether Nush and Scott will get it together, yet no-one that I'm aware of has been the slightest bit interested in Lee and Sophie's relationship?

I'd really like to know!

rachb 08-08-2003 11:57 PM

I do want them to be happy but I can't seem to manage to be happy that they are getting married,i remember reading an interview with them I think it was in new magazine, where Lee said something like if they got married and it worked then that was great if it didn't then it didn't matter.
I just think that it was the wrong way of thinking about marriage they just seemed so unsure and not very romantic:love:
I hope they prove me wrong though and have a long and happy marriage:love:

Janette 09-08-2003 01:47 AM

But if they don't then they can always sell their story to Hello Magazine!

Romantic Old Bird 09-08-2003 09:38 AM

Of course I wish them well, who wouldn't? (maybe Lee's ex, Carmen!) I hope they have a long and happy marriage. It is possible that they are really very much in love, although I didn't sense chemistry between them when I saw them together at BB3 final night.

Not sure why no one is as interested in them though. I'm certainly not. I suspect it is because there was never a 'will they, won't they?' slow burn and a tragic seperation (they were seperated, but it had no drama).

I suppose Nush and Scott have the potential for a similar happy ending as Helen and Paul, but they didn't have the fantastic comedy duo appearance that our duo had in the house. The 'Do you think about stuff?' 'It could be breath-taking stuff', and, staring into each others eyes 'We could be doing some good stuff now Mr Clarke!' It was and still is hilarious!

And, as one heat reader observed 'they may both be one sandwich short of a picnic, but we love them for it!'

Back to Sophie and Lee: Good Luck to them both!

Article about Sophie and Lee's wedding from Ananova:

Quote:

Former Big Brother housemates Sophie Pritchard and Lee Davey became the first of the show's contestants to marry today.

Nearly 200 family and friends watched the couple wed in a private ceremony in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, Ms Pritchard's home town.

The bride, wearing an ivory dress and red cape, smiled as she arrived for the service at All Saints' Church in a silver Mercedes.

Ex-model Ms Pritchard, 26, and fitness instructor Mr Davey, 23, began to flirt on live television during last year's Big Brother 3 series. After they were both evicted they began dating.

Guests at today's ceremony included Craig Phillips, who scooped the £70,000 prize in the first Big Brother in 2000.

Also present were former housemates Paul Ferguson, known as Bubble, model Alex Sibley, Jonny Regan and Alison Hammond.

But the happy couple were shielded from view by minders and are believed to have signed a six-figure deal with OK Magazine.

The wedding reception was understood to be at De Vere Bellhouse Hotel, in nearby Beaconsfield. Ms Pritchard's father Maurice, 55, was said to have given his daughter away at the altar.

Mr Davey, from Leicester, proposed to his future wife live on Channel 4's RI:SE breakfast television programme last November.
So they haven't sold their story to Hello magazine, Janette . . . . . . it's OK magazine!!!!!

Rachb, you made a good point earlier on. Lee's attitude in that earlier interview struck a few warning bells with me too. Is it just coincidence that he and Sophie have married so soon after BB4 finished and interest in BB contestants is high just now, therefore greater tabloid interest in them . . . . . . . . .or am I just being cynical? :spin2:

For what it's worth I think that, for her sins, Sophie does love Lee - it's his motives I'm just not too sure about.

Sticks 09-08-2003 10:52 PM

So what is the book on how long this will last ?

What is the price for 3 months ?

Sorry got my cynical head on tonight

Kaz 10-08-2003 11:28 AM

Well, the Sunday People online have a comment from Lee's ex-girlfriend:

Quote:

SOPHIE Pritchard and Lee Davey yesterday became the first Big Brother housemates to marry. Sophie, 25, and Lee, 23, wed in Marlow, Bucks. But Lee's ex, Carmen Buckley, 25, said: "She's welcome to him. I'l give the marriage a year, tops."

James 10-08-2003 01:48 PM

My opinion is that they are in love whith each other, although they probably got engaged so quickly to make more money by selling their story.

Interesting that the BB4 housemates were invited despite not knowing the couple...

This is from today's Bizarre section of the Sun Online:

It's Beg Brother for
Sophie and Lee

I KNOW I told the BIG BROTHER lot to get lost because I’ve had enough of them - but this one’s irresistible.
BB3 contestants SOPHIE PRITCHARD and LEE DAVEY flogged their wedding to a glossy magazine on the promise they would pull in a few “celebs” for the big day.

But baffled photographers stood around for hours at the ceremony to no avail, and now the mag is refusing to pay.

The couple were reduced to begging people to come on the morning of the wedding, after guests pulled out at the last minute.

A source told me: “They called JON TICKLE from this year’s show and pleaded with him to come, so he turned up to the service. ALEX SIBLEY was there too but that was about it.

“Sophie and Lee know nothing about the cash row — they are on honeymoon. If they don’t get paid, they will be totally skint.”

The couple borrowed cash for the big do, in Marlow, Bucks, expecting the mag to come through with the dosh.

Poor old Sophie kept bursting into tears on the day — and I’m not convinced they were tears of joy. Lee upset his new bride by forgetting to thank her during his speech.

And Sophie was furious when two female pals of the groom turned up, wearing knee-high boots and mini skirts.

I give it six weeks.
It just gets tackier and tackier, doesn't it?

If this is true, then Lee and Sophie are NOT going to be happy when they get back from honeymoon. :bawling:

James 20-08-2003 01:30 AM

I doubt they would have signed a deal without getting a cast-iron guarantee about how much money they would get.

Usual tabloid exaggeration? Possibly.

Welcome to TiBB btw :wavey:

Tamara 20-08-2003 10:37 PM

thanks..Nice site. I think you might have some visitors from DS :hello:

rachb 20-08-2003 10:46 PM

Thanks and Welcome Tamara:wavey::wavey:
I think Sophie looks lovely but I think maybe the photographer could have given Lee a box or something to stand on<I didn't realise he was so short:shocked:

LEE 20-08-2003 11:26 PM

heehee I thought that as well Rach

Romantic Old Bird 21-08-2003 01:34 PM

What a shock to see that Narinder turned up. And Bubble.

They are normally so reticent and publicity shy.

Sticks 21-08-2003 06:23 PM

What's the book on this lasting more than 3 months ?

BusyBee 21-08-2003 09:16 PM

Well at least they've got the money coming from the Sky programme.

If people could have bet which of the ex housemates would have been invited/turned up I think most people would have picked the majority of those attending. It makes one very cynical about peoples motives.

A wedding is a family/friends occasion not a reason to invite attention seekers who if they have met before I'm sure cant be classified as close friends.

Still best of luck to them I think they are going to need it.

Sticks 27-08-2003 10:09 PM

So that was the wedding

It leaves us with one question

3 , 4 or 6 months ? :laugh::devil:

Oh dear I am such a cynic :devil:
