Pete and Nadia\'s Big Brother regrets

Quote:

As Big Brother 2007 draws to a close, former housemates Pete Bennett and Nadia Almada have been talking about the downside of life after the series.

Nadia won the reality show in 2004, and bagged a recording contract and magazine deals - but she soon descended into depression within a year.

She now keeps a low profile, and advises housemates to not believe all of the hype. "You really need to have the right people around you - get your family, get your friends," she said.

"Even if you think you're above them in a way because you have all of this newly-found worship, I think you need to sort of listen to them and not cut yourself from the real world."

Likewise, last year's winner Pete has seen work dry up following the Celebrity Big Brother race row in January.

He said: "A few jobs that had come in were cancelled because they didn't want to have anything to do with Big Brother anymore. So I went from loving it, to not wanting to be involved in it anymore."

Big Brother ends tomorrow night after 13 weeks, with twins Sam and Amanda Marchant, favourites to win the show.

How ungrateful.

Now now, it's not fair to say that. Publicity and fame intensifies their lives. Now grant it it was their choice to try and get a public career after Big Brother, but they didn't expect certain things.

I think it is kind of ungrateful though,it just goes to show winning isnt all that i mean i hear more about the likes of aisleyne, nikki, glyn and jade than the actual winners.Im not saying its always positive but i mean when do you ever hear anything about cameron?lol

I agree for Nadia, we all know we've got to be careful, a lot of housemates are in depression at the moment. And for Pete, unfortunatly, he paies for what happened last january.
But they mustn't forget that Big Brother made their lives when they needed the most.

It's a cautionary tale... I think quite wise words. What is apparent these days is that the only housemates that do all that well after the show are female housemates that are attractive to lads' mags and the like.
