Fame Academy - Wednesday\'s songs (20th August)

These are the songs the students will be singing this Wednesday:

Alistair - A Kiss From A Rose (Seal)
Barry - With A Little Help from my Friends (Joe Cocker)
Gary - Drive (The Cars)
James - Have A Nice Day (Stereophonics)
Louise - I'll Stand By You (The Pretenders)
Paris - It 'Aint Over 'Til It's Over (Lenny Kravitz)
Peter - Last Night (The Strokes)
Simone - Out Of Reach (Gabrielle)
Carolynne - Just Like A Pill (Pink)
Alex - Yellow (Coldplay)

Never heard of Alex and Peter's songs.

Think James's song is too similar to his previous ones. And Louise is singing yet another ballad - she's singing it quite well in rehearsals, though.

Another good selection - it's going to be tough on Wednesday! :dazzler:

Yellow by Coldplay is gorgeous and I think it should really suit Alex.

I think it would be improved if they chose very obscure songs (which are still good) as the students wouldn't be compared to the original singers as much.

Also I wish they would let them sing the whole song instead of just 2 minute clips. Show less of the teachers remarks which are really just ego-trips anyway.

Even better would be if they sang their own songs, and make it into a song-writing/performing competition.

I really miss the duets and the ensemble songs that they did last year.

I watched Carrie and Louise discussing the up-tempo songs that Louise could do and I think they were struggling to think of what sort of market she would fit into.

Anyway, singing ballads has never done Westlife any harm, has it?

Is it just me who thinks that it's not very good this year? As many of you know I loved Fame Academy last year but this year has failed to really draw me in. It was the personalities that I really liked last year, particularly Malachi, Ainslie and Sinead. The students last year genuinely liked each other but this year they mainly seem pretty bland to me. I don't think they are being themselves at all, are very aware of the cameras and are fairly desperate to be liked.

There are exceptions of course, personally I think Alex should walk it, but it is lacking something special for me.

Pity in a way that Louise has got one that Carolynne would be brilliant at.

Also, I'd LOVE to hear Paris sing the Seal number. I really like Lenny Kravitz, but it's another falsetto job for him, pity!

Yellow is a brilliant song listen to AND WATCH it HERE!

BET YOU KNOW IT!:spin2: (Click on 'yellow' if it says, can't find clip, just click 'remove'.)

As for the Strokes

I BET YOU KNOW THEM BOTH WHEN YOU HEAR THEM!

Anybody know how this year's Fame Academy is going to last ten weeks with 2 people being evicted each week. The figures dont add up.

I think they have made a mistake by dropping the group work from last year and also the top student idea.

BTW when will the teachers stop saving Louise from eviction. It is obvious that the public are not keen on her. What do they see in her that we dont. To my mind she's nothing out of the ordinary and certainly hasnt got a unique sound. Wonder how the other students feel about her being saved every week by the teachers.

They now go to one explusion a week on Saturday nights as from this week, BusyBee, so that will make it last longer.

I thought Louise or Simone would have gone wednesday!!! Disagreed with Richard Park and the other teachers about Alistair i think he's great
