Emily was treated badly I think...

I thought I'd make a topic about Emily since the racist row with Ziggy has been brought up. I think it's wrong how she got kicked out for saying the 'N' word to Charley back on day whatever it was lol. She clearly felt bad about it and couldn't stop saying sorry. I don't understand why she got thrown out and Ziggy didn't. Ziggy said sorry to Brian for what he said even thought it wasn't apprantley aimed at him but so did Emily so how is that fair that she had to leave and Ziggy didn't?

I am so annoyed at this. C4 said at the time when Emily was ejected that it was because she said the word, not the context or anything it was used in, but yet Ziggy does the same and isnt ejected

Ruth*Star 03-09-2007 02:41 PM

I think they didn't chuck him out because it was the day before the finale, and i don't think they'd want to chuck someone out 24odd hours before it ends, but i do feel bad for emily.

Billy 03-09-2007 02:43 PM

The thing that annoyed me is that they covered it up, he should have got the same treatment as Emily. Emily wasnt eligible to win, I dont see why he should have been

xkatex 03-09-2007 02:45 PM

Even if it was before the final I still think he should have been treated the same as Emily. She must be so mad at this, I know I would be. Emily didn't get a chance to prove herself, she was shown the door straight away!!

It's totally unfair and no excuse for the way this was covered up, especially after how they dealt with Emily. It doesn't matter that it was before the final and the voting lines were open, Emily's line was open as well as she was nominated when she got kicked out. I feel bad for Emily and she must be so pissed. I think BB were even more strict with her than Pat Butcher, Jade Goofy and Danihell Lloyd in CBB.

And the very least they could have done is to invite Emily to the final and the BBLB reunion but she wasn't, and Ziggy was allowed even though he did exactly whatr Emily did. It's extremely unfair and anyone involved with how this was handled should probably be fired.

Billy 03-09-2007 02:55 PM

I am so complaining to ofcom :p Nah just kiddin

Wasted 03-09-2007 02:58 PM

I actually might complain. Not sure it would actually make a difference though, unless loads of other people did.

Billy 03-09-2007 02:59 PM

Im not gunna I dont think. It would just mean bad publicity for the show, which I dont want to happen

DANii--X 03-09-2007 03:56 PM

i think its unfair yhey both said the same kinod not sayin like omg ur a stupid n***** they said it in a song or phrase

BigBrother_x* 04-09-2007 03:29 PM

its so annoying and the fact emily wernt even allowed to the final or bblb reunion! and when ziggy said it it wasnt even shown!

SHAUNi-OX 04-09-2007 03:42 PM

i totaly agree , i love ziggy but wht he said was just as bad as emily so either none got chucked out or both BE FAIR

dc13 05-09-2007 08:00 PM

i think its unfair on emily as well but it probz coz ziggy said the n word a day before the final but still they should of removed him from house

Retroman 07-09-2007 03:52 PM

Emily had a serious chance to clear her name A LOT in her interview with Dermot two days after being removed from the house...

However, she just rambled like an idiot and kept holding her head in her hand and looking down in a very false manner.

It's a shame, because if she had the intelligence to explain the reasons behind what she did, she could have cleared her name a lot more efficiently.

However, I think two things contributed to her being removed:

1. Charley making a big deal out of "you'll be in trouble" and even when they all agreed to shut up and keep quiet, still Charley said "you'll be in big trouble though"

2. She happened to say the N word in a casual manner, to two people who came from social circles who never say it...hence their shock. I know plenty of coloured people who abuse the N word, they even call white people it...it's almost become a sign of respect such as the word "homie" from America. And many white people say it to black people and they all laugh about it and use it constantly in a joke type sense.

I also think it's a joke when coloured people complain about how they were made slaves and that the N word reminds them of that and causes them serious offense...when they have nothing directly to do with slavery what so ever and haven't experienced it. If we're trying to move towards an equal future, people can't dwell on matters in the past. Especially since NOBODY currently alive has anything to do with the slave trade.

That's the equivalent of somebody calling a white person a "dirty christian" and someone saying it reminds them of the time when Jesus was alive and christians were hated and killed, which upsets them. Nobody can be reminded of a time that never existed to them personally.

But yea...
I think Emily was treated unfairly, but channel 4 and Big Brother would have suffered immensely if they hadn't taken serious action.

I also think it's incredibly contradictory to leave people in the house who also said the same word.
