Housemates like Nikki and Chanelle are paving the way for more spoilt brats on BB
 

The likes of Nikki and Chanelle have come on the show and done nothing but throw tantrums and act like babies, make fool of themselves and just show how spoilt, stupid and childish there are.

Then they leave the House and get adoring fans, media exposure, and even their on airtime on TV post-BB on their very own show.

It sends a bad message out in my opinion, because it's saying that the sort of behaviour we've seen from Nikki and Chanelle is to be rewarded, which is not the case, and shouldn't be the case for Nikki and Chanelle neither.

Don't expect any decent, original housemates and personalities next year unless the producers have some sense knocked into them or are miraculously replaced. We're just going to have the typical wannabes who will hype themselves up and behave no differently to the likes of Nikki and Chanelle once they get into the house, and reaping the undeserved rewards when they leave.

As well as the whole tantrum thing, on Big Brother, stupidity is also rewarded. With housemates like Jade and recent winner Brian, people are going to dumb themselves down and not be themselves because they know that intelligence and dignity are qualities that seem to be looked down upon by a lot of the viewers whilst ignorance and stupidity is rewarded and seen as entertaining (unfortunately).

I definately think so; people will now think that by acting like a spoilt brat they can get their own way; Nikki and Chanelle now have all the publicity they want, and were liked for acting like children.

I was thinking earlier; the two of them were just as miserable as Nicky was, but Nicky was disliked because she handled her feeling natrually and properly, which made her seem dull. Nikki and Chanelle was just as grumpy, but acted like babies, making them more exciting as housemates, I suppose.

Fair enough, but your saying its a bad example, yet you were a supporter of Charley, who was a disgusting individual and a horrible spiteful bitch who sent out the message to bully people, and not have a job?

Do you think thats fair?

Also sounds like your quite bitter that your favourites havn't had their own TV shows, I am probably wrong there though.

Chanelle, imo, is a nice person. Shes had her downs, and a few of them. She may be insecure and immature, but overall shes a nice person whos dealt with a lot, sees her problems and deals with them. Yeah she may have the odd 'tantrum' but who said thats a bad thing?

^ Charley is actually a good example for the point I'm making too. We're going to have wannabes who will think mouthing off all the time and being hostile 24/7 will get them media success as well. I'm not criticising the housemates themselves, just the fact that there are going to be people who mimic these characters because of the exposure they've gained from being such brats, and if they're chosen to enter the house then they're not going to be entertaining because we've seen it all before.

It seems that you are talking about the housemates themselves as their names are involved, and both (surprise surprise) seem to be two people you've dissed quite a lot on the forum.

Big Brother is a show of entertainment.

As did Charley (not personally for me, as Im sure N + C didnt for others)

Any characters whether they be wannabes, childish, immature, blah should be allowed on Big Brother, as long as they aren't boring.

I had to use examples and I chose Nikki and Chanelle as they're quite similar, and they're two of the most successful housemates to come out of the show and are quite popular, so they're probably the best examples of the point I'm making. I mentioned Jade as well as she's the most successful housemate in terms of media coverage, but I didn't mention her right away because she's not so popular anymore.

And you've done the same as I have by bringing Charley up as an example. You've talked about someone that you've dissed as well. You seem to think I'm just bashing housemates I don't like but that's not my point, and I agreed with Charley being used as an example even though I supported her.

OK well thats fair enough, I just think it was convinent this thread happened the same day the thread about Chanelle's new TV show came up, as if it was to bring her down a bit, but youve justified that.

Wasted I have to agree with your feelings. We don't need more of these cry babies in the house next year acting like little kids and spoiling Big Brother. These people need to stay away for the auditions and working on getting themselves sorted in private and not in front of the public gaze.

I don't watch Big Brother to laugh at people, I watch it to laugh with them and share in their experiences in the house and the last thing you need in the house is a fame hungry three year olds with personality disorders to watch. They spoil the series and make the show boring. If I want to watch a three year old have a tantrum I can go down to the local nursery and see them live.

What we need is more of the types of housemates of the great series of the past that made the show entertaining. The people that went into the house for the experience and to play the game.

Unfortunately we are going to see more of the wannabes, especially if they move the show to E4 because of the different audience the station commands. Since the type of people you are taking about in the show is more suited to E4's style of programming.

I hope I'm wrong but I fear the last of real Big Brother's was number 6. Since then the fame game that really started to take off after Big Brother 5 has really taken over the whole show.

People today seem to believe the way out of their boring lives is to become famous rather than looking at themselves and improving their lives and doing something interesting and exciting with there time. They dream of living the lives of others who inhabit the pages of celebrity magazines like Heat. And although these so called celebrities lives are falling apart in most cases they put them on pedestals and want to be just like them.

I was going to make this thread last night but I was just tired, but I admit I forgot about it today until reading about Chanelle's new show. I'm not undermining Nikki or Chanelle's success, but just moaning about the fact that people are going to mimic their behaviour in the hopes of following in their footsteps. And obviously that means throwing tantrums galore, and Nikki and Chanelle annoyed me enough but cheap imitations will be even worse.

I know.

Its a shame really.
