Race row threatens The Apprentice's future
WARNING: THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS USE OF A POTENTIALLY RACIST TERM
The future of reality forumvision show TiBB Does The Apprentice looked in doubt last night after it emerged that producers of the show had covered up a race row.
It was revealed by a mole last night that the show's executive producer cut material from the show which involved an argument between show contestants Ruth Star and Barry Luvaluva.
According to our mole, the two contestants had a row during task two of the programme, which involved the contenders creating popular subforums. It apparently got so heated that Miss Star used a racist remark towards Mr Luvaluva, calling him "Barry Poppadom". The contestants then had a food fight, chucking mashed up OXO cubes at each other.
Our mole said: "The executive producers acted in the best interests of the public by cutting the term 'Barry Poppadom' from the show. I don't, however, think it was the right decision to make."
Our mole told us that Miss Star was not punished for her use of the term. Mr LuvaLuva, however, told us he was considering legal action, saying: "The term that she used was highly racist and was of huge offence to me. I am considering reporting her to the law."
Broadcasting regulator ONCOM recieved 550,000 complaints regarding the incident. However, they insist they cant act as the material was cut from the show.
This is the second scandalous story that has come to light regarding The Apprentice today: earlier we revealed that the show's final was fixed, with the viewer's vote not counting for anything, when it should have in fact counted for 50% of the final choice.
