Wife Swap with Jade and Major Ingram - lack of harmony

Didn't got smoothly according to The People.

STRIFE SWAP!

GOBBY Jade Goody had plenty to moan about living with Britain's most outrageous cheat in TV's Celebrity Wife Swap, The People can reveal.

Big Brother dimwit Jade spent two weeks with lying Army Major Charles (cough cough) Ingram.

Jade, 22, moved in with Ingram, 39, who was found guilty six months ago of trying to con the producers of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

And by the end of two weeks' filming, The People can reveal that Jade had:

SCREAMED at the major for being "lazy" and "a flapper".

BROKEN down in tears under his strict regime.

BRANDED his hard-faced missus a snob.

The swap took place when Jade was seven months' pregnant and Ingram had just been convicted of trying to defraud the TV Millionaire quiz show by getting a pal to cough at the right answers.

Jade, from a working class background in South London, was horrified at the amount of work she was expected to do at his posh rural home in Wiltshire.

She rants: "He likes to be waited on hand and foot. Well, Charles I'll cook you a good dinner and that'll be it."

But Jade ends up mopping floors, doing laundry, cooking meals and preparing the three Ingram kids' packed lunches.

Jade tells the major: "If I have a premature baby I'm blaming it on the Ingrams. Overworked and underpaid."

The pair have a slanging match after Jade brands him "a flapper".

Ingram rages: "What she said was very annoying, very ill-considered. I am a remarkably composed person."

Later Jade is caught sobbing because she is missing her TV presenter boyfriend Jeff Brazier, 24, who is being looked after by the major's wife Diana.

Charles accuses her of lying about how much housework she gives Jeff.

But she shouts: "I did Diana's work for days. You've done one day's worth and already you can't cope."

Jade ends up having more tantrums when she hears that Diana, 39, has called her new Essex home "bleak".

A C4 insider said: "It's great viewing. It's obvious Jade found the whole experience a bit much."

Celebrity Wife Swap is expected to be screened before the end of the year.

More on this, from Ananova:

Ex-Big Brother contestant Jade Goody has told about life with ex-major Charles Ingram after finishing filming Channel 4's Celebrity Wife Swap with him.

Ingram tried to con his way to the top prize in ITV1's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire with the aid of audience member Tecwen Whittock, who signalled the answers by coughing.

Ingram and Goody spent a week together for Channel 4's Celebrity Wife Swap and they admit it was not all plain sailing.

Goody told Radio TImes: "At first I didn't like him one bit - he was very irritating, very controlling, and he kept talking about how he did a lot round the house, but he never did anything to help me. After about four days, me and Charles had a big run-in, but that sort of cleared the air."

However, they eventually found they saw eye to eye on a number of things.

Goody said: "Fact is, he and I have got quite a lot in common. We've both had a hard time from the papers - when I was in Big Brother, everyone thought I was this two-faced, mouthy cow. I just told him not to be so defensive, not go around all the time telling everyone he was innocent. 'Just take it lightly,' I said, 'and learn how to turn people's minds around'."

And Ingram - who is awaiting sentence after being found guilty of defrauding an insurance company out of £30,000 - admitted: "Living with Jade was quite tough."

He said: "She's not someone who's afraid to speak up, and she lets you have it with both barrels. When she's in that frame of mind, she tends not to listen to other people's opinions, though I suppose the upside is that once she's had her say, it's all forgotten, and she moves on - she doesn't let things fester.

"By the end, I was able not just to appreciate Jade's sense of fun, I had also developed a strong respect for her."

The pair will be seen in the Channel 4 show on November 11.
That's just over a week's time . . . . . . . can't wait!!!

Oh boy, I'm looking forward to this! I do like Jade but I couldn't imagine being locked up with her for two weeks, she'd probably drive me mad. It will be interesting to see how the boring Major copes.

:elephant: + = :joker:

I thought this was really funny:laugh::laugh:
and for the first time I really laughed at Jade:shocked:
I think Jeff is so funny and just perfect for Jade and I do hope they stay together I think he could be very good for her.
I loved the bit where Jeff took old Mrs Ingram to the golf club to play who wants to be a millionaire :laugh::laugh::laugh:
I do think she was right to make him do all that housework he should have tried to help a little even if he doesn't help his wife she might do all that but she wasn't pregnant!:nono:

AndyJK 12-11-2003 12:57 AM

I agree rach, and if they all entered the program to change the public's perception of them and enhance their careers, they certainly made the right decision. Jeff came out of it best I thought. It couldn't have been easy for him having someone who has tried to con their way to a million pounds, is twice the age and with opposite interests living under his roof, but he treated her superbly and this, even more to my surprise, was reciprocated by Diana.

Jade seemed hard working taking into account she was heavily pregant. She wasn't prepared to be subservient to the Major and even gave him a lesson or two in housework. She also doted on his kids which showed her humane side. Even the Major appeared a genuinely nice guy with a good sense of humour (I still believe he is guilty as hell though ) and although he and Jade had a row one day, he was prepared to forget it all and make her a nice meal, and from then on they seemed to get on like a house on fire.

Great stuff.

OK, I admit it, it was good watching. I would like to take Rach to task on the 'old Mrs Ingram' comment though! 39! I wish I was that old!!:bawling: Mind you, they do act older, I admit it.

I think the Ingrams went into it entirely for the 'good' publicity, and Charles did his best to be mr Affable. I suspect he is very firmly under the thumb. I still think they are guilty too, though judging by the house and lifestyle they are managing to struggle along.

Jade went into it I think because she enjoys her noteriety but she was quite entertaining, and the children did like her, so she can't be all bad.

Jeff is a bit of a saint isn't he? They are very well suited, and look alike. They also have their baby now, so I think they will be fine.

Couldn't help thinking that in a previous year it just might have been H&P and that would have been pretty hilarious too. Paul would have shown Diana his 'blinding' Star Wars collection and Helen would have glittered up the girls and Capt Ingram and taught them all to Disco dance. Aaah well.......

rachb 12-11-2003 12:02 PM

Fear not ROB I wasn't really serious about 39 being old as I'm not all that far off myself:bawling:
I did laugh at Jeff though as he seemed to think 39 was very old:blush:
It reminded me of a time when I was little and we had a car accident and the police asked me to describe the man in the other car and I described him as middle aged, when they asked how old was middle aged I said about 25!!:blush:
I was suprised to find that she was 39 though she looks at least in her late 50's and acts as if she's in her 90's!!

BigSister 12-11-2003 04:59 PM

I didnt see this last night as I went to my local football teams game(who won:hugesmile:)
But judging from your threads it looked good
My mum taped it so I am going to watch it later

Amy 12-11-2003 08:48 PM

I really enjoyed the show last night
Thought it was well worth the watch :hello:

James 13-11-2003 10:27 AM

This show sounds good. If, like me, you forgot to watch it's repeated on Friday at 9:00 pm.

BusyBee 13-11-2003 05:59 PM

I only watched a bit, but it reminded me how much I dislike (perhaps that is too strong) Jade. Poor Geoff he is a bit of a saint isnt he. Though I think he got the best of the bargain.

What an old fuddy duddy that Major is.

Yes ROB we can only dream - I think I might even have volunteered me and OH for that LOL. But I think one half of the swap might have had to be censored :blush:

LEE 19-11-2003 09:06 AM

According to The Sun Lee and Sophie are going to do this as well - one to miss I think.

kaphc 19-11-2003 09:45 AM

Why on earth do they think that anyone would want to watch them on TV any more than they already have??

Sorry Lee and Sophie, but your 15 minutes of fame is over!

BusyBee 19-11-2003 03:22 PM

No, no, no, no.

Didnt they get the message when they tried to sell their wedding photos - no-one was interested, when they got married - no-one was interested except the rent an ex BB mob they invited, when they sold their honeymoon pictures - no-one was interested.

Just give up Lee and Sophie - and get the message.

James 19-11-2003 11:02 PM

I'd quite like to see that one actually.

Missed the wedding show.

LEE 27-11-2003 11:15 PM

We got off lightly, it could have been the Hamiltons
