How about a thread where we identify a song from a few lyrics?

Clue number one:

The writer and performer of this died in tragic circumstances in 1997, and IMHO he was a genius!

Sorry ROB, I don't recognise those lyrics at all! With your clue, I'm thinking Kurt Cobain or Michael Hutchence, but I can't imagine that you would think either of them is a genius?

It was Jeff Buckley from his album Grace (1994) and the track was 'So Real'. Don't know if this will wiork, but if you haven't heard him try this SO REAL

I hadn't heard of Jeff Buckley but I've just looked him up and he was the man who wrote "Hallelujah" on the Shrek soundtrack which is a brilliant song!
