BB4, BB6 and BB8 flopped commercially

Those were the 3 Big Brothers that didn't do well.

Jack 01-11-2007 03:40 PM

BB4 was rubbish, as was BB8 (although slightly better), however BB6 was my second favourite series.

BB6 may have been good, but the history says that it was the least watched series, this means it comercially flopped, did it win any award though.

Arneldo 01-11-2007 03:42 PM

I'd agree with BB4, but not with BB8 & BB6. Both BB6 & BB8 did not do as good as their predecessors with the ratings (BB5,BB7) but they were just as talked about with people, in magazines, papers. In fact BB8 was probably more talked about then BB7.

This Daily Star was the only tabloid BB8 was ever talked about, and it hardly made big front page daily news, both 7 and 5 were in front page of every tabloid paper and mags, 8 was hardly ever talked about.

Lets be honest, DS would write about shite crossing the road. BB8 was talked about more then BB7, with the twists, relationships, Emily, Charley.

Jack 01-11-2007 03:51 PM

BB8 had more controversy and thus was written about more by the tabloids. I think the race row and the female launch damaged the show somewhat, which may have explained the low ratings. Chanelle made the front page of the Daily Star the other day and Charley is on the front cover of Heat this week. Samanda are still very much in the public eye. The only housemate in BB7, to be mentioned in the media months afterwards was Nikki.

No it wasn't, stop bluffing, I could quite remeber BB7 being in the front page in Sun, Mirror, Daily and other tabloids daily, the controversy even created many debates, had one of the highest final nights rating, 8 was hardly ever in ever in the front page, not to forget when Nikki was the 12th most talked about person in 2006 media, none of that happened in 8. Just face facts the show flopped.

I think you looking though BB7 rose colored glasses. The show was talked about, but it WASNT in the front pages daily. BB8 got way more front pages - with more twists, controversy. BB7 was just pretty plain, but with good housemates. It was talked about but not as much as BB8.

Jack 01-11-2007 03:57 PM

We're not denying the low ratings of BB8 (and in my opinion it was an awful series). We're just saying that it did receive a lot of media attention. Charley is the most hated BB housemate ever, and the show had more controversy than any normal series of BB (obviously discounting celebrity series). The only controversy in BB7 was bringing Nikki back (and even that was done in BB4 - I know Jon wasn't eligible to win but still).

Stop posting lies, the only paper i ever saw 8 in front page news was Daily star, and it was hardly daily, 7 with the shock eviction, with many controversy after HM returned were in front page nearly every day in every tabloid paper. I could clealry remember in the final week how Nikki's return went on through the whole final week in every front page new, with worries she might win.

Please tell me how many tabloid papers you ever saw 8 in front page news. 7 was always in the papers, and the controversy in BB8 about Emily only lasted after two days, which then was long forgooten by the media.

I'm not posting lies - You posting what you apparently saw and trying to pass it off as truth. You obviously didn't see that many papers/magazine during the summer as BB8 was WAY more discussed and on the front pages then BB7 was during 2006. BB7 did do better than BB8 in the ratings but in the media BB8 did better. That is a fact. You're pro-BB7 posts are getting down right ridiculous, we get that you like it but you have to take of your rose colored glasses and look at the facts.

I have seen papers, and followed BB8 quite a lot, your main problem is that you cant except the fact 8 was a disaster and 7 was a success. 8 did not do well in the media, the least talked about show in the media, again you posted this as lie to convince me. Seriously its a bad taste to like BB8.

Usual - The Sun, Daily Star, News of the World.

Charley probably generated more controversy than the whole of BB7 for one. The "n" word fiasco was huge, you're deluded if you thought it wasn't. The all female launch also generated heaps of headlines (all front page). Charley's fake eviction, Chanelle's exit (obviously I am talking from a media standpoint because I think we all know BB8 was unsucessful in the ratings).

farhad 01-11-2007 04:14 PM

People over here will do anything to make crap excuses for BB7's success.

They're hardly excuses. BB7 generated as much media as BB6 did. Yes it was regarded as a successful series but BB8 was written about more in the tabloids.

I liked them, Especially BB8 AND BB6

It's not about which series you liked, but series didn't do well.

Again lies, Nikki had her own show was still in the mdia, we had Grace and her CDC show, Aisleyne, and they also had interviews and media coverage during the 2007 series, it is only November the 1st, lets see how long they go.

farhad 01-11-2007 05:08 PM

BB8 as a bigger flop than BB4 as at least back in BB4 the producers put some effort in - it was the housemates that let them down - while in BB8 it was more the housemates let down by the producers.

Captain.Remy 01-11-2007 05:10 PM

Even if they were the least watches series, it won't alterate my opinion on them, I loved BB6 and BB8 and I strictly don't care of what people think.

For me it is and I don't mind what the ratings say, everybody doesn't have the same excpectations from a TV show.

Vine6 01-11-2007 05:15 PM

More of Farhads propaganda to get people to like BB7 and prove a point. Thats all this thread is.
