Throwing out old Heat Magazines

I have in my possession a load of Heat Magazines from just after the end of BB2 :blush:

I originally wanted one edition, the one where Paul and Helen finally admitted they were an item, but made the mistake of asking at my local newsagent and so thay got it for me every week.

I never was good at saying no

My flat is to be re-done and modified and these things are taking up space and I never reference them and things have all moved on.

I realise that Heat Magazine is seen as sacred here, but would it matter in a cosmological manner

If I dumped the whole load of them:mad:

ONLY if you disposed of them in an environmentally friendly paper recycling centre, Sticks.

And even then, ONLY if they didn't contain the slightest scrap of reference to Big Brother!

Be it on your own head! :spin2:

I think not Sticks. I too have thrown out all my mags. Although I confess to cutting some of the photo's out of P/H before hand. But my BB2 tapes are sacred and I don't imagine I will ever dispose of these.

But Heat is a glossy magazine, the type they do not want at paper recycling centres :conf:

The BB stuff is old news and things have moved on.

Sticks, I have to admit I have been looking at the mass of videos that I have from BB2/Lorraine etc and thinking that OH is right and I am a terminally sad person. (Not his exact words, but it is Sunday).

I don't seem to have quite the same 'touch them and you die' protective feeling for them that I once had.

Not quite ready to out them yet though.

As for the magazines, well I have a few intact, but most have been clipped and the collective photo's articles etc are in a file.

I do wonder on occasion what they will think of me if they come to pack up my sad collection of belongings after my demise and find all the aforesaid memorabilia.

Comments like:

'Well, Mum's senility obviously kicked in quite a long time ago'

spring to mind..........

I too have removed all the relevant articles from heat magazine (plus numerous other magazine) and filed them away carefully in files. And now that I have relabelled some of my videos these have also been stored away. Although I did enjoy delving through them so I could writed on the labels. I cant forget the collection of our ROB's stories that are included. I may not read or look at them as often, but there is no way they are going to be assigned to the bin :nono::nono:

Oh ROB I think there are many of us would could say the above. OH has no idea just how much I have acquired in my collection. They think I need help from the men in white coats now - so what they will say when they find my BB stuff cannot be imagined.

All I can say in mitigation is that worst things happen at sea.

I have had to sling two carrier bags of them, including the Hello magazine with Helen & Paul. I was required to make space in a lock up cupboard.

This is part of a reorganisation of the flat I live in.

Romantic Old Bird 25-01-2004 08:37 PM

Sticks, I bet you could have flogged them on ebay if you had wanted to.

Poor old Paul and Helen - discarded and cast aside.

Such is the stuff of life.

That which was once fresh, urgent and new, is now faded, frayed and forgotten.

Not for them the stuff of legend. Their love story is not to be captured and held in perpetuity, like Romeo and Juliet, Tristam and Isolde, etc.

There is one good reason for this........

They lived happily ever after!:colour::hello::colour::love:

Mine aren't going anywhere Sticks. Not for some considerable time.

BusyBee 26-01-2004 06:01 PM

So eloquently put ROB. Mine too are staying put for the foreseable future. My excuse is that someone will need to research BB in the future and my little collection will be just what they need.

I hope you felt a little bad sad when you disposed of your collection Sticks.

I did not really have much choice in the matter. The flat is to be re-done and re-organised and I am not the driving force here.

Friday is the next stage and it is going to be a logistical nightmare. This evening I had to ditch the most recent issues.

Sometime during this re-organisation I will be knocked off the internet for a while and I do not know for how long.:bawling:

noooooooooo dont through heat magazines i have basically all of them since issue 92 and wud never through them out no way

Sticks 21-02-2004 10:10 PM

I did not have a choice in this. It has been hinted at me that I should start disposing of some of my music CD's as they are taking up too much space

sweetlittlesara 21-02-2004 10:51 PM

No I decided to throw most of mine away a few months back, all I have left now is that one where they did the interview not long after the end of BB2 and they both look really sweet awww

Amy 21-02-2004 10:55 PM

A scrap book would be better than keeping a whole series of mags it takes up less room! Take the best articles out! I did that when i was obsessed with Take That
