How does BB get WAY lower ratings than I\'m A Celebrity?

I mean, Big Brother is the bigger show - more famous, more talked about, more hype etc. but for some reason its best average has 5.9 million, in comparison to IAC3's 10 million per night!

What is with that? Big Brother has WAY more exposure than I'm A Celebrity and is far more talked about and has a larger fan base.

So what is with such high ratings for IAC and low ratings for BB?

I'm A Celeb is only on for two or three weeks so it doesn't really have to sustain high ratings as much as Big Brother does. IAC has been getting poor ratings this year anyway, I think.

Yes, it had 4.4 million on Friday!

But still, even with a longer run time, most episodes only average 5 million (excluding BB8).

Any show on BBC1 or ITV1 gets bigger ratings than shows on C4. If Big Brother moved to ITV1 it would get larger ratings because the only other channel which would be competition is BBC1 but because it's on C4 both ITV1 and BBC1 are competition.

Also I'm a celebrity is advertised to 10m+ who watch Coronation Street unlike Big Brother which is advertised to the 2m+ watching The Simpsons and Hollyoaks..

Because it is on ITV1 which traditionally has a bigger audience than Channel 4 and it doesn't last for months and months.

So, if BB was moved to ITV it would be getting a 10 million+ average? :conf:

I think for launch and finale night Big Brother ould get over 10.5m and for the highlight shows it would always get over 5m

So in reality it still wouldn't be as popular.

Its cause big brother was crap this year both celebrity and normal big brother very poor most reality shows have been poor this year anyway american idol, big brother and x factor im only really enjoying iacgmooh.

As other people have said it's because Big Brother is on for longer so the audience is spread out more over the series. More people watched Big Brother over its whole series than will watch I'm a Celeb - or X Factor for that matter. That's why Channel 4 won't cancel BB even though the ratings were down a bit this year.

And the other reason for higher individual ratings is that ITV carries over a larger audience from its other shows like Corrie.
