Shamed Sophie Anderton is defending shocking allegations of cocaine abuse and prostitution by telling pals that she just gets lonely and wanted to earn some money for her future.

The model was exposed as a £10,000-anight hooker by a Sunday newspaper, which also filmed her snorting three lines of cocaine.

A close confidant of the model, who made her name with Gossard bras, is now trying to get her to sort her life out once and for all and check back into rehab — and sources say that Sophie is "on the verge" of agreeing.

She has been in floods of tears and has been allegedly screaming down the phone to her friends since the story broke.

She fears that she will never be able to come back from this scandal, and that her modelling career is over for good.

A source said: "Sophie has hit rock bottom and she's terrified she's ruined her career forever.

"Her pals are all trying to make her go to rehab and have told her to forget modelling for now — her state of mind and health are far more important. But she's finding it hard to see this.

"She's been screaming and crying down the phone to her friends yelling 'it's all over'. She has been beside herself," the source adds.

"Sophie knows that she's been no angel in the past but she feels totally ashamed that she's been caught out like this."

To make matters even worse Sophie, who lost a £100,000 modelling contract with Fake Bake after the scandal was revealed, is terrified a sex tape she made with her ex, footballer Mark Bosnich, will now surface.

Sources say she's also devastated and "deeply ashamed" about how this will affect her mum and dad.

The source said: "Sophie is planning to go and stay with her mother for the moment. She's not convinced rehab is the best course of action.

"She has said that she would rather save the money she would spend on rehab for her home and future, but pals think that they can change her mind."

It was reported on Sunday that the model, who has appeared in I'm A Celebrity, Cirque De Celebrité and Love Island, stripped to her Gstring and stilettos and spread herself across a bed, bragging: "I'm great at sex."

The 30-year-old beauty, who had publicly claimed she had won her long battle with drugs, also said: "Everyone takes drugs, I've got some on me, do you want a line?"
