And So it Begins

The great winter freeze, the worst for 10 years, that we have all been waiting for since last week!!!

Looks like it is creeping down. This was taken out of my windowa few minutes ago.

steve_o 27-01-2004 09:48 PM

It's raining here at the mo, but it's windy and the temp on my system trays say's 4 C. -1 windchill.

Your so lucky!

I have no snow!

I want snow!

Its certainly cold enough for snow, not good when you have an attic room! I dont like having to put up with being this freeeeeezing and not getting any snow!

AndyJK 28-01-2004 10:29 AM

A clear blue sky and sunny down here. :spin2:

LEE 28-01-2004 10:39 AM

And here as well Andy.

Its waiting for next week when hopefully I am moving house!!!!

BusyBee 28-01-2004 11:27 AM

We always seem to miss out on the snow in this neck of the woods. The rest of the country can be snowed under, but not us. I love the snow so am still keeping my fingers crossed.

(Still got everything crossed for you Lee as well)

BigSister 28-01-2004 02:09 PM

Its snowing here

Sticks 28-01-2004 05:55 PM

We had blizzards up here today

BTW your welcom to our snow, I don't want it

LEE 28-01-2004 06:02 PM

We've had no snow here as of yet, but just before it went dark the sky went that funny colour that 'looks like snow' as my mother used to say, so I reckon I stand a pretty good chance of waking up tomorrow to a world of white.

LEE 28-01-2004 06:26 PM

It's now snowing

I think I'm glad my move has been put back to next week - it should have been tomorrow and would have been interesting in all the snow:shocked: Lets hope its cleared by next week

Di2001 28-01-2004 07:45 PM

It's snowing at the moment here. Woke up this morning to quite a covering of the white stuff. It was a slow walk to work for me this morning.

BusyBee 28-01-2004 08:11 PM

Well my fingers crossing worked :hello::hello::hello::hello:

5.15pm this evening just as I was leaving work there was thunder, lightening and SNOW (well a blizzard actually).

Hooray

kaphc 28-01-2004 08:42 PM

We had snow overnight, and then just as it was about to melt, we had a snowstorm for 2 hours in the afternoon - during which time I elected to go and do a food shop, and buy my required number of tins of soup.

10 minutes after I got back from the supermarket, it stopped snowing. C'est la vie!!

Glad to hear there is snow in Surrey LEE!

Amy 28-01-2004 11:24 PM

Well i left work at 5pm got on the bus 5 mins later we had rain, then lightning and lots and lots of snow my usual 15 min journey took 45 mins
Nice to see some snow though even though it's really, really cold!

Kaz 29-01-2004 12:25 AM

Plenty of white stuff up here!

Not a great deal lying, probably only 2-3 inches, but it's causing havoc when the wind gets up and causes blizzard conditions.

Had a flurry around teatime, but no more so far . . . . . . . . . . . it is VERY cold, though!

Amy 29-01-2004 01:48 PM

I don't know about the rest of the country but we still have a bit of snow but it is melting rapidly due to blazing sun, only wish the sun was making it feel really warm!

LEE 29-01-2004 01:54 PM

There's quite a bit left here but it is starting to melt. Loads of it fell very noisily off my roof about an hour ago and I wondered what on earth it was, I thouht something serious had happened.

I've never seen snow with thunder and lightening before either. Very weird. :conf:

James 29-01-2004 03:06 PM

It snowed a bit here yesterday but it didn't last too long. I live quite near the sea and it hardly ever snows here.

Although I can look across to Arran and see snow-covered mountains most cold days in the winter.

Amy 29-01-2004 08:55 PM

And the snow has now............................................... ......
gone! was nice to look at while it lasted shame it did'nt take the cold weather with it when it went :spin2:

Princess Pink Pants 30-01-2004 09:48 AM

It started snowin like mad wednesday evening so we had a huge snowball fight down my road (only students live down my road, about 150 of us!) and then I made a snowman!

Somw horrible boys next door chopped my snomans head off, stuck it on top of the washing line and put a knife in his head, but his bodys still there and the snow hasnt budged since wednesday, I havent been in 2 uni coz the whole road a pavement is covered in thick ice! I got all ready 2 leave, stepped out the door and nearly died so I went straight back in!

I know what U mean! That was happening all wednesday night & I thought it was really strong wind or maybe thunder!
I have an attic bedroom so it was REALLY loud!!

Sticks 30-01-2004 12:11 PM

It has been quite mild today

Hopefully the snow will be gone by the end of the weekend

Amy 31-01-2004 08:45 PM

Any one else got bad weather again??? We have bad wind here! Hmmmm maybe I should rephrase that

Amy 25-02-2004 01:32 PM

Too many baked beans, Amy? :spin2:

No snow up beside me just now - blue skies at the moment - but apparently it's quite bad above Aberdeen. VERY cold, though!
