I feel depressed, what do I do

Anyone can help me out on this, I'm upset that I feel depressed at a young age, is there anything that could take those constant headaches away.

Shaun 22-11-2007 10:22 PM

Constant headaches, eh... hmm. Are you under a lot of stress at the moment?

Go to your doctor, he should be able to prescribe something to help.

CassetteFinger 22-11-2007 10:47 PM

Have a bath that might help if you have no tablets.

Ross 22-11-2007 10:50 PM

Lie down maybe, or go to Doctors would be safe option.

Or maybe you're coming down with a flu or something.

Red Moon 22-11-2007 10:57 PM

Doctors are your best bet. If you can't wait that long phone the Samaritans.

You are a nice guy just get help and talk to someone..... life is a bummer at times.

Captain.Remy 23-11-2007 06:00 AM

I had many headaches when I was younger ! I've been to the doctor and he told me I have migraines. Then I think pills when I have one. But it still an horrible feeling.

Sticks 23-11-2007 06:59 AM

This one is out of left field, but also see the dentist.

Sometimes a dental problem can manifest itself in a headache.

Failing that see if you can get a CAT scan, just to make sure there are no tumours or someone has not shot you in the head. (it has happened that someone was carrying round a bullet in their head)

Or try Beecham;s powders.

The depression is probably a side effect, plus it is winter, so try and get a sodium lamp to sit in front of for a few hours each night (S A D ?)

farhad 23-11-2007 10:40 AM

I dont have any dental problems, just the headaches are bugging me.

CassetteFinger 23-11-2007 10:59 AM

So are you depressed cause of your headaches like everyone has said the safest bet is go to the doctor.

Sunny_01 23-11-2007 11:46 AM

like Sticks said it could be dental. Even if you think your teeth are fine. I used to get headaches and it turned out to be my wisdom teeth that had not descended.

I second that! I have second that. I have suffered with my wisdom teeth for the last 3 years and they can cause so much pain and that can often result in a headache

I get depressed more in the winter time,as soon as the sun comes out i feel much better, try focusing on the good things that you have going for you at the moment.

farhad 23-11-2007 01:18 PM

Not that long ago, it's been 18 months since I've returned home from a care home, and I've been to the doctors there which I had a low blood pressure, it did get better but now starting to feel the same again with those headaches, i've just made an appointment, thanks for the suggestion guys.

Jackie 23-11-2007 01:36 PM

hey farhad,I suffer from depression myself and headaches are a common symptom of depression.
I know this wont help right now and you may not see it ever happen but believe me one day you wont feel like this anymore, and im not talking in a matter of years, maybe it will be less than a matter of months but all I can say is one day your going to be feeling great about yourself and your life and for that reason you can never give up hope.
Going to see your doctor is an option but at such a young age they will prefer you to get your self out of the depression so to speak, without the aid of anti depressents as they often have terrible side effects and some people become addicted quite easily. You may hear about some docs handing out anti depressents willy nilly but i honestly dont think thats the case.My personal experience with depression got to quite a serious stage before i was finally pescribed prozac. However I must admit talking can do wonders, some times you just need to get everything off your chest. You seem like your reaching out for someone to talk to and if you were to arrange through your doctor to see a councillor then it may help you significantly more than just posting your problems on tibb as the help us members can give you is obviously limited.
If you ever want a personal chat feel free to contact me,I understand and I sympathise and I promise you things WILL get better.

I would still go for a dental check up and mention the headaches, just to be on the safe side.

Always try and avoid anti-depressants, as they are addictive.

farhad 23-11-2007 04:12 PM

What side effects does an anti-depressant casue?
