FANS FLOG SPICE TICKETS AFTER HEARING SINGLE
THE bubble has burst for the Spice Girls as fans sell off their tour tickets on the cheap.

They are being unloaded online for as little as £22 – a third of the face value. The desperate sale comes after disappointed fans heard the band’s new single.

The Spices’ first London night at the 23,000-capacity O2 arena on December 16 sold out in just 38 seconds. Tickets for extra dates in London and Manchester’s MEN arena were also snapped up.

But a pair for the January 3 show, which should have cost £170, have gone for £50 on eBay. And a ticket for the first UK night went for just £22.19 – more than £40 less than face value.

Scores more have been flogged on the cheap and prices are now expected to fall even lower. A source said: “It’s really quite embarrassing.

“There was a lot of buzz about their big comeback but so far it hasn’t lived up to the hype.

“The single and album haven’t done as well as expected, and now there’s a big question mark over the live shows.”

The Spice Girls’ comeback single Headlines only scraped into the midweek pop charts at No 10.

The Children In Need charity track has so far sold less than 6,000 copies and is being trounced by X Factor stars Leona Lewis, 22, and Shayne Ward, 23.

TICKETS for the Spice Girls' comeback tour are being auctioned off for less than a third of their face value.

The first London date of their world tour, on December 16, originally sold out in just 38 seconds.

And 16 further dates at the 23,000 capacity O2 Arena, as well as two at Manchester's MEN Arena, have also sold out.

But it seems that internet touts, believed to have snapped up thousands of the tickets, overestimated demand to see the gigs.

Now tickets for the 19 UK dates, with cost £85 each, are being hurriedly flogged off for less than £25.

It's grim news for the girls, whose comeback single Headlines stumbled into the midweek charts at number 10.

Despite all the proceeds going to Children in Need, the track has sold fewer than 6000 copies and been trounced by offerings from Leona Lewis and Shayne Ward.

The track has also received a less than enthusiastic response from radio stations, with Radio 1 music boss George Ergatoudis calling it "very disappointing".

The five girls - Geri Halliwell, Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Mel C and Mel B - reformed in June, six years after they split.

But already it seems their stock is falling with tickets for their "soldout" gigs readily available online.

Two pairs of tickets for the O2 Arena shows, which should have cost £170, have sold for £50 on online auction site eBay.

And a single ticket for their first UK night has gone for just £22.19, despite a face value of £64.

Scores of other pairs of tickets for the 17 shows at the London venue are also up for grabs.

The Return of the Spice Girls tour begins in Vancouver, Canada, on December 2.

They will play 45 gigs at venues in Europe, North America, Asia, Australia and Africa.

A Greatest Hits album released to coincide with the tour hit number two in the album charts, behind Leona Lewis's debut one.
