Not really, it's just an opinion. I think everyone who's a member agrees that he is a talented singer, he's just not right for the X Factor and it would be pointless if he won.

I would agree looking at the membership we all agree that he has talent but he really is on the wrong show. It's not that we hate him or dislike him, we just don't know why he is part of popular music talent show.

Z 25-11-2007 12:05 AM

Yep. He shouldn't have been put through to the final 12. He should have been signed up by Simon Cowell, much like what he did with Sarah Whatmore from Pop Idol - though she disappeared after one song.

Tom 25-11-2007 12:05 AM

Sharon hit the nail on the head. Why didnt Andrew Lloyd Webber put him through for Joseph? He suits the West End or Broadway, not the charts.

Because they thought he didn't have the acting talent to pul it off. He can clearly sing that type of music but could he do it without up staging people?

I agree... but I don't think he would have disappeared in the same way. The guy has talent but not as a pop music star.

I don't agree. Why people want to make manufactured pop stars with no personality ? I mean, is not the X Factor supposed to bring new talents instead of trying to find the next "number 1 in the charts" ? Rhydian has talent and should be recognised for that.
And I can't see the problem if he's a pop star or not. He's definately not and people should respect it.
We have thousand and thousand singers like Hope, do you really want an other bad copy ?

There are other types of talent shows Rhydian could have done well in and probably won. The X Factor isn't the place for his style of music. The £1 million recording contract would be better spent on one of the other acts in the show.

But why ? That's what I'm asking. Why Rhydian shouldn't win considering that he has talent, sucha great voice, he has personality and charism. If people don't aloud him to record an album, it would be terrible. None of the remaining acts is better than him, in term of personality and talent.
I thought that The X Factor was a show where we discover new universes, talents, voices and personalities. Finally it's just a "15 y-o pop stars factory"

You put that very well Remy.
Rhydian is hard working, original and is a true performer.

Ok so if I'm listening to Red, we should have a talent show for every single music styles...that would be a mess don't you think ? The thing with that type of show like Popstars, Americal Idol, X Factor, is that we can discover so many talents, personalities and universes. That makes it wonderful to watch.
We have million of boring pop star singers who copy each other, do you really want that one more time ? So we should leave the good talents, who are strong in order to let a girly band with no personality winning the show ? That's not fair.

Yes I agree he has loads of talent as a classical opera singer and would be a star in the world of musical theater as long as his acting can be brought up to speed.

If the X Factor was just a talent show it would be filled with other types of acts such as comedians, mime artists, musicians etc. But it's not just a talent show.

It's a singing talent show derived from pop idol. As such it is looking for people to enter the popular music business by offering them the chance to get a recording contact. They even get to release a single in time for Christmas in order to reach number one in the popular music chart.

Now notice the words pop and popular and not the would classical in the last paragraph.

Now there lies Rhydian's problem. He is a classical singer in a pop music competition which at the moment he looks like winning easily. It would be a waste to give him the recording contact. He is only ever likely to get one number one hit, if that, and people will soon get bored of the the music style. Radio stations like radio 1 probably won't consider him suitable to make the playlists which will rule out further singles. So then he becomes a classical singer singing popular music songs in the classical charts like a lot of people before him.

I know, but people keep buying the downloads and the singles. That's pop music for you.

And we don't really know if people will be bored or not, I'm sure he can surprise us.
We should give him a chance of becoming a great artist. He's unique, the other acts already exist.

He will record a album win or lose now. That was clear after a few of the live shows. If Simon doesn't give him a contract someone else will.

Unfortunately he is not that much of unique talent in the classical word. There are other artists out there that sing popular music songs such as Hayley Westerna. Admittedly she is female but there are male artists out there too.
