JUNGLE celebs shocked show bosses when they lifted the lid on their seedy drug-taking experiences.

ITV1 chiefs watched the frank conversation around the campfire in stunned silence.

Contestants were given a task to discuss the most scary things they had done, and the talk soon turned to
substance abuse.

Former boyband star Jason “J” Brown told how he nearly went “insane” on LSD. Soap sizzler Gemma Atkinson and PR guru Lynne Franks both confessed to having bad trips on magic mushrooms.

And ex-Catatonia singer Cerys Matthews admitted she spent “a long time” affected by substances which would make her hallucinate in the street.

Jason, 31, revealed: “One time I went on the stereotypical bad trip you know, well, with acid basically.”

He then described his experience and told the celebs: “I can honestly say on that night I kind of touched on real, real madness and it was unbelievable what went on.”

He added “I thought I had gone absolutely insane.”

Lynne, 59, also confessed she lost the plot after taking magic mushrooms .

She said: “I was at a concert surrounded by people and I absolutely freaked out.”

Gemma, 23, also told of taking the same drug at a party.

She said “It was awful. I hated it. That’s when I said never, ever again.”

Singer Cerys, told the gang she was once hooked and now refuses to touch any drugs, adding: “I have had flashbacks for 10 years.

“I can be walking down the street and see people’s faces melting and people with pigs’ ears on their heads – and this is sober.

“It’s stopped now but it went on for a long time and when you start doing that sober – that’s why I tread carefully, you know.”
