Wisdom Teeth
For a while I felt like my wisdom tooth might be growing at the back of my mouth, and in the last few days its become really painful... hurts to chew, and whenever my teeth touch.
I did some googling and found they often grow at weird angles, and a lot of people have to have them removed. I'm going to book a dentist appointment and see what they think. Has anyone had it removed? Stupid question, but does it come out easily or is it a messy/painful operation if the tooth is in deep. Just don't really know what to expect! - Mark |
My Sister gets pains from these, but she doesnt want to go and see about it, She is too scared lol

Do Wisdom teeth give you wisdom? What is widow anyway?

I used to get a kind of feeling of pressure from my wisdom teeth and I asked the dentist about it and he did x-rays so your dentist will probably do that.
But for me it turned out there was nothing wrong so I don't know what they do about it. I think it might be an operation to fix it. Also I think I was told the enamel in the wisdom teeth sometimes doesn't forum properly and can be weak when it comes through. |
I havent had mine removed but mine have taken a few years to come thro. At times it was very painful and they have become infected twice and my face swelled up on one side.
Its one of the worst pains I have endured. Mine were coming through straight so I wasnt offered them to be extracted but if they are coming in sideways or at an odd angle you may have to have them removed. On the NHS they dont tend to remove them until they have become infected twice, or so my dentist said. I feel for you as its so so painful. |
A couple of mine have started to come through.I was in agony for a few weeks but they seem to have calmed down now.
My auntie had to hers removed and ended up in hospital. |
They are attached to your jaw [deeper than others] so it can sometimes be painful and messy when removed

I had all 4 removed many years ago under general anisthetic. I had similar problems to yours Mark. I have to say the relief after was wonderful, no more electric shooting pains, no more head hanging headaches.
Get yourself to the dentist mate, sounds like you need to  |
I second that, I had to have mine removed in Bury General under a general anisthetic.
The problem comes when there is not enough space for the wisdom teeth when they erupt. |
My sister got her wisdom teeth out like 6 years ago and she has to go hospital and get them out.
|
I remember my wisdom teeth coming through and being quite painful, I had an abscess with one of them and ended up on antibiotics but other than that I've had no problems whatsoever.
