Niki's next, says booted Bev
BOOTED out Beverley Trotman has revealed that her X Factor exit was inevitable because of her age… and thinks Niki Evans will be next.

Primary school teacher mum-of-two Beverley Trotman, 37, from Luton, Beds, was the sixth act to be voted out after being mentored by Louis Walsh in the over 25s category.

Bubbly Beverley was voted into the bottom two along with girl group Hope, who looked to be heading for the chop after being voted into the sing-off for the third week in a row.

The show went into deadlock after the groups received two votes apiece from the judges and Beverley was shown the door after receiving the fewest votes from the public.

She said: “I’m keeping it real, absolutely.

“Let’s face it they’ve [Hope] got that longevity, they’ve probably got the element of doing anything and I’ve got a family, I’ve got my children and everything.

“I’ve got my husband and a very, very supportive family.

“And so my path is obviously different.

“Again, being real, do you think Niki will have the opportunity to win it? I don’t know, but I’ll back her, of course I’ll back her.”

There have been growing rumours this week that Simon Cowell’s Hope girls have been beset by rumours of in-fighting and tantrum-throwing. It was reported that Charlie Mole stormed out of a recording session over a row over their song choice of Christina Aguilera's Hurt.

Beverley revealed: “They are naughty sometimes and loud and scream at the top of their voices sometimes.

“But they’re doing well for their age.

“Yeah, they have their moments. We all do, don’t we?
When we stamp our feet and all the rest of it. We can all remember being 15 and 16.

“We can all remember being 15 and 16, but how many people get the opportunity to be 15 and 16 and thrown into the limelight?”

Now Beverley, who said she received the backing of the guest mentors every week, such as Girls Aloud and Westlife this week, believes that friend Niki will not make the final.

And she said that it means “nothing” that Hope have been in the bottom two for three weeks in a row.

She said: “Hope, Leon and Rhydian. That’s who I think will probably be in there.

“Of course I’m backing Niki, I’m going to be backing Niki every week.

“My phone bill is going to be ridiculous now.”

Now Beverley, who admitted she would have preferred Simon as her mentor, said she will consider her options before making her next step.

She revealed: “Louis’ cool.

“I have to say, to be honest, I did want Simon because everybody does and Simon says it like it is.

“But I will just look at anything now. I just think that I have a lot to offer and the children route is one option. The theatre is another option.

“Maybe a record deal is another option but these are all things that I am happy to look at.

“Going into TV presenting or working with charities to do with children.

“For me it’s been an extra special journey.”

It's refreshing to read an exit interview which isn't bitter. *glares in the direction of Daniel and Futureproof*

But - Hope haven't been in the bottom 2 for 3 weeks running. Silly NOTW.

Amen.

Billy 26-11-2007 03:19 PM

Bevs was the most bitter of them all, did you read the one on the officials ite?

Z 26-11-2007 04:35 PM

To be honest, can you blame any of the acts for being bitter though?

Still, that interview seemed like she was fine with it. I think Beverley knew she was going to be in the bottom two when it was just her, Hope and Same Difference. I think she probably knew she was going too.

Tom 26-11-2007 04:45 PM

Beverley doesn't realise that Niki is second favourite to win and Beverley was an outsider. Beverley also doesn't realise that her and Niki had similar styles, but more people have taken to Niki so the most logical move for Beverley fans to do is support Niki thus giving Niki more votes.

Beverley is talking out of her a*se.

Leon or Hope will be next, even though they are the only 2 that could get a long term career if they won.

Z 26-11-2007 04:48 PM

Sadly, I fear it's Hope who will go next. I doubt Leon because he's actually been very good the past two weeks and unless he's rubbish this week, he'll be in for another week.

I think it is so selfish, rude and ungreatful when an eliminated act is bitter - they've had a one-in-a-lifetime oppotunity and still manage to complain when they're voted off.

Out of twelve finalists there will only ever be one winner - no matter whether you're the first to leave or the runner-up, you're still not the winner. And based on statistics, an older female doesn't have any realistic chance of winning - the highest placing for a 25+ woman is fourth.

Beverley needs to grow-up - as do people like Daniel (who I have to point out was also an older competitor)...

True, but the higher you finish, the more likely you are to be able to produce a career out of it. Can anybody really see Kimberley or Daniel having a successful career? No. Can anybody see Hope, Leon, Rhydian, Same Difference or Niki having one? Yes. It's a matter of where you finish. I'm not saying I think they should be bitter, I'm just saying I can understand why they feel bitter.

Like you say, the likelihood of forging a career out of the show isn't very high. I'm not accusing Beverley of wanting a career out of it or being bitter because she doesn't have much chance of a career; I'm just responding to your post.

I can actually see Bev going down a similar route to that of the one Brenda took - theatre is something she mentioned pursuing in her DS interview and I think she'd make a better living doing stage shows than going back to teaching...

Z 27-11-2007 04:23 PM

Definitely, she was very comfortable on the stage and I think it would suit her more than a career in pop music. I have similar feelings towards Rhydian.

Rhydian was born to be a stage star and I think he could do a bit of both - focus on a production one year and maybe an album the next... He's hardly going to be forgettable.

However, I think his shelf life as a record-seller could be quite short due to the majority of opera albums being covers, covers and more covers. Hopefully, Simon will get some gifted song-writers to pen some original material for him.

Hope will be gone on Sat !

TopzTom 01-12-2007 11:19 PM
