Computer Problem. [Fixed]

I just accepted a file from one of my friends and clicked on it and now it's gave me some sort of virus that sends to all my MSN contacts aswell. Any advice on how I could get rid of it?

How about System Restore, take your computer back a day? would that work?

MarkWaldorf 04-12-2007 07:56 PM

That happened to my sisters computer, she had to reinstall the whole system.

That's happened to a few of my friends, it's so annoying as well. Try System Restore.

Thanks for the advice. I've tried system restore and it didn't work so now i'm trying Sybot Search and Destroy.

You need to do a boot scan, a number of viruses hide in the Restore section so a System Restore will not work. When this happened to me in 2005 I ended up having to do the Nuke option and calling in and paying for an engineer.

I ended up reinstalling Windows XP and now everything is working fine.

My friend caught it, if its the one where it says 'Look at this Picture of You' (Or Something). They had to delete Windows Messenger, and use Norton to delete the virus.

They then reinstalled Messenger, and it was all fine.
