what are the contenders this year?? i dont think XF will get it this year mainly because the finals on the 15th which means the single wont be released untill the 23rd and the song isnt realy that good.

the single is usually released on the wednesday after the final the last 2 years have been anyway

but the XF final is on this saturday(15th)and if it was released on Wedensday it woul be released on the 19th meaning it would enter the chart on the 23rd and the christmas number one doesent come out until the 30th.i think.....

If Mariah Carey's song was physically released it could be a contender. It's #8 on downloads alone. Well, the XF winner would still get #1 so I guess the real "competition" is the fight for #2. And it isn't being released anyway.

Mariah Careys song is in the singles chart though. And quite high.

no the christmas number one is the number one on christmas day so thats the tuesday after the 23rd so if x factor was number 1 on the 23rd then it would be christmas number 1

ohh right sorry i was confused i thought the christmas number one was the number one after christmas day.

It'll be the X factor winner versus that 'we're all going to die' song.

It will be the X factor winner. I would like leona to stay number 1 till then but its impossible. It would be great if she was number 1 two christmas's in a row.

X factor will do it and i really want it to be leon or SD
