THE Spice Girls were locked in crisis talks last night over fears that injured Emma Bunton might have to quit their comeback tour.

The group are due on stage at London’s O2 Arena tonight, kicking off 17 concerts.

And the frenzy for tickets was so great yesterday that some fans were offering touts as much as £5,000.

But Baby Spice Emma, 31, is hobbling around on crutches after spraining her ankle during their final Las Vegas gig.

Her injury has already forced the group to pull out of performing on Strictly Come Dancing on BBC1 tomorrow. Now there are fears she might have to quit the entire tour.

Options being considered by Victoria Beckham, 33, Mel B, 32, Geri Halliwell, 35, and Mel C, 33, are postponing the concerts altogether or having Emma propped on a stool on stage.

Emma said last night: “I’m praying I will be all right, even if I have to go on stage with crutches. I’m seeing David Beckham’s doctor.”

But an insider said: “You just can’t see Emma going ahead with it on crutches.

“She is going to look daft.”

Her injury has not stopped the fight for tickets for tonight’s gig.

With all 20,000 selling in just 30 seconds, some touts have been offered up to £5,000 a piece by desperate fans.

The girls faced more bad news yesterday with bookies saying Geri was odds-on favourite to quit the band.

Insiders reckon the band will split after the reunion tour.

And Ladbrokes say Geri has attracted more than 90% of bets and is 5-6 to be the first to walk.
