Mischa Barton arrested for DUI

Mischa Barton has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The actress, who played Marissa Cooper in The OC for three years, was also booked for possession of illegal narcotics and driving without a valid licence.

She was believed to have been driving her white Range Rover in West Hollywood at around 3am when she was pulled over by police, who spotted her vehicle straddling two lanes of traffic. She was also alleged to have made a turn without signalling.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said they questioned Barton and found that she was under the influence of alcohol and did not possess a driver's licence.

She is currently being held in custody on $10,000 bail.

The 21-year-old recently revealed that she frequently felt frustrated while starring in The OC.

What is it with celebrities and DUIs? Is it in fashion now?

It annoys me, why are all celebrities driving around drunk most of which get off lightly with little or no punishment (I'm looking at you Paris, Lindsay and Nicole).

^Paris did 30 days in prison and Lindsay was issued to community service. Nicole didn't really get a punishment.

Doesn't really surprised me with Mischa. She's been spotted with drugs for ages now.

^ Both Nicole and Lindsay had like 84 minutes each in prison.. which is pretty pointless. And wasn't Britney's charge dropped?

Must be something to do with LA :tongue: most of the celebs this year have been caught there. Bit suprised at Mischa though.

It must be the latest trend to DUI, For female celebrities that it because i havn't known of any males to get arrest for DUI.
