BB8 rated as the worst tv show of 2007.

In yesterday's 'Daily Mirror' their tv critic had BB8 as the worst, and celeb bb as the 2nd worst tv shows of last year. Unfortunately, i have to agree.
Furthermore, not only do i think that bb8 was the worst tv i saw last year, the worst bb ever, it was, imho, as bad as any tv i've seen in my entire life! 3 months of absoloute, mindmunbing tripe, that couldn't have been worse if it tried.
The only other tv show that i can think of that was as bad as bb8 was a so-called ITV comedy from a few years ago called 'Hardware' That was so bad it had to be seen to be believed.

farhad 02-01-2008 01:13 PM

?? I thought Celeb BB was the most compulsive viewing on TV all last year. Watching Jade Goody explode was like watching a Roman tragedy - absolutely spellbinding. And 7 million people agreed with me. How on earth can they say it was 2nd worst show last year? It gets my vote as must-see TV. Show of the year. EVERYONE was talking about it. Even Gordon Brown.

BB8, on the other hand, WAS rubbish.

MR.K! 02-01-2008 01:15 PM

i agree with bb8 but i think cbb was the best one so far

Spike 02-01-2008 01:15 PM

I thought CBB was one of the best tv shows last year.

Xander 02-01-2008 01:16 PM

I think CBB was the worst because look what happened in it, BB8 was boring that was the problem with it.

Conor 02-01-2008 01:18 PM

Big Brother 8 was so crap I think I watched only about a 10th of it.

BigSister 02-01-2008 01:25 PM

i thought bb8 was good cbb5 on the other hand.......

farhad 02-01-2008 01:28 PM

But I woudn't rate CBB5 as worst tv, but the most controversial Big Brother ever, everyone was talking about, so it's a must watch on the other BB8 was the worst Big Brother ever.

BigSister 02-01-2008 01:29 PM

well i liked bb8 depsite what other people thought you may not have liked it but we all have our own opinions

Arneldo 02-01-2008 01:30 PM

I think people give BB8 a hard time, lets face it, it wasn't going to be mind-blowing TV after CBB5. I think people had an impression of what they wanted and when it didn't live up to there expectations they slated it - which isn't BB fault.

Big Brother 8 was, IMO, a good series. It gave us some good housemates in the form of Brian, Charley, Nicky, Gerry, Samanda, Seany, Carole, Chanelle, Ziggy - All who provided good TV with arguments, laughter and much more. We also had some controversy with Emily and a gripping romance. We had a world first and original twist with Fake Week and the all female house was something that was never done before in BB around the world. I think it had a good mix of arguments and laughter. I think like all series it had it's faults - some being the loss of the Saturday HL's, change in the schedule, and the other being too many housemates.

BB8 didn't do disastrous in the ratings, as some people may have you believe. The series average is around 3.7 million, which is good seeing as BB8 did have a lot competition over the summer, with Britain's Got Talent, The Apprentice, Match of the Day Live.

For me, the best part of BB8 was that for once in the long time we had a unpredictable BB. It was weeks and weeks before people had a good idea of who would win (Amanda & Sam) and even then it proved wrong when Brian won the series. In BB7, it was obvious who would be evicted every single week - but it wasn't like that in BB8. I mean, Charley is an example - every week people thought she would be nominated but she manged to avoid nominated for five weeks.

Again you had to bring 7 into discussion, just take those obvious winner away and HND fiasco, 7 had provided with many memorable moments, had some best characters ever, a lot of Diary room moments, 8 just had none of them.

Point to be noted, it says the worst TV of 2007 not just the worst Big Brother, and I dont think 7 or 6 was worst TV shows of 2006 and 2005.

I brought BB7 into it to show just how unpredictable BB8 was, and to prove a point. BB7 was the most predictable of all BB's, and it ruined the series from Day 1. Even if you take away those things you mentioned - it was still so predictable. Everyone could tell who would be evicted every Friday, and it was even pretty even to guess who would be nominated. I think compared to other series - BB7 didn't have many memorable moments, even now I can;t think of much other then one or two of Nikki's DR rants. I don't think it had "some of the best characters ever" - Nikki maybe, and possible Glyn, but Pete, Imogen, Mikey, Michael, Dawn, Bonnie, George, Susie - what did they bring to the house? Nothing - and some of them were in there for 12 weeks.

Anyway - back onto BB8. I think it is very underrated and I think maybe, kinda like BB6, people will look back on it and realise just how good it was.

This title doesn't talk about 7, and I think 7 was a lot better than Eastenders and other shows that year, plz pick one moment of 8 you could think of. My point was take away the HND fiasco and returnee HM fiasco, then 7 overrall had quite a lot of good moments and rants.

This topic is about BB8, and I brought up BB7 to prove a point about BB8.

Anyway, I could think of many moments of BB8 - Brian's rants, Brian & Charley argument, Seany pushing Charley into pool, Lesley and the duvet, Samanda DR, Emily's ejection, BB Birthday, Chanelle Vs Charley, Shanessa thinking Ziggy liked her, Carole Vs Amy/Nicky/Chanelle, BBAU phone-call - just small collection of some of my favorites.

You can't just take away main big parts of a series and say "it was amazing" because, they were part of that series. They make up good/bad parts of it.

To me 8 was mimicking past contestants, nothing original, nothing unique, the only unique ones in there were Samanda who were totally being themselves. My point is even if the producers messed it up in 7 but it is the actual performances of each HM made it a great series, all were unique and different from previous HM, 7 had originality as ith characters as well.

Redmond 02-01-2008 03:13 PM

Rightfully so, BB8 was and is the worst Big Brother since the show has started and the first time ever that I turned off (two weeks from the end). Not one housemate stood out or had something different to offer, the ones that did make more of an 'impact' where just poor imitations of housemates from previous years mainly Nikki wannabes (Charley/Chanelle), Glyn wannabes (Brian) and Victor wannabes (Billi), none of them had individual character. The show was all over the place in terms of production, with twist after twist flopping, the whole thing seemed like it was made up on the spot. The last month or so of the show was some of the worst TV I've ever seen, there was about a fornights worth of episodes were all that happened was arguments about food..food..food...constantly, I'm not kidding you, I think there was one entire episode that mentioned nothing but food. This is when I switched off.

Badly produced and bad housemates. And yes before anyone pipes up, BB4 was a better series, just because it was quieter and the housemates got along it still had some likeable characters like Jon Tickle, Ray and Fedrico. It also had twists that were pulled off greatly like the South Africa housemate swap and the luxury rooms.

BB8 was dire and if BB9 is anything like that then they should cancel Big Brother. But hopefully the producers will have learned.

andybigbro 02-01-2008 03:35 PM

I dont think BB8 was the Worst BB never mind the worst Show of 2007

Billy 02-01-2008 03:44 PM

IMO NBB8 had some of the best characters that's been on in Charley, Nicky (yes im being biased), Chanelle, Ziggy, Brian ( as much as I disliked him), and Carole. The only problem was that it was on too long and they introduced too many new people. IMO, Laura,Emily and Tracey should never have made the original lineup, and Amy,Kara and Shanessa should have.

Like Arneldo I think the series was vastly underrated, and the reason peoplefound it boring was because it had just followed CBB5 which was very explosive

Captain.Remy 02-01-2008 04:08 PM

I won't change my opinion because the show is rated like this. For me, BB8 was not brilliant but enjoyable, it was rather average. For me, it has beaten BB7 by miles.

Mate it says the worst TV show of the year, means the worst thing on TV of 2007, I dont think 7 was the worst TV show of 2006, it had boring River Ireland and Eastender was also at its worst in 2006.

Billy 02-01-2008 04:47 PM

but remy says "for him", which means IN HIS OPINION it is better than BB7 hes not asking eveyrone else to agree (although I do)

So imagine your friend asks you to jump from a roof then you will do it ? It's not because a poll said that, that I'm going to change my opinion about something I found either nice or rubbish.

Woo thanks Billy ! I guess it's something that Farhad doesn't understand. It's my opinion but apparently Farhad wants all to agree with him because some kind of poll said it.
