Custom Titles + Recent Posts-Bar?
 

I'd just noticed that the bar on the front page of the forum, which showed you the most-recently-posted-in threads, has disappeared.

I was just wondering if it was causing the recent problems with slowness on TiBB and was removed because of that?

Edit - for me, the custom titles are gone too...not sure if that's the same for others.

Its the same for me on both of them.

Yeah i really liked the Recent-Posts bar, seems werid now its gone, i liked the Custom titles aswell, but if them being gone speeds tibb up, i'm all for them being removed.

Same for me too - i thought it might of just been me but that dosnt seem the case - but TiBB hasnt gone slow since its been gone..

It's been just as slow for me.

It seems that search has been removed again too...

Same for me. I just figured I had changed my settings without knowing.

Hopefully the admins can discover what's up with the forum.

If it speeds up TiBB then i'll be happy. It seems alot faster today, which is brilliant news. :thumbs:

i dont like it without the recent posts column,can we have it back please mods?

But why can't we go back to the days when we had all these features, and TiBB was still fast?

It's the same for me too.

It's even slower for me now, sometimes i just give up with trying to come here.

It's frustrating not having the recent posts bar.

Even though these important features have been removed, TiBB still seems slower than normal at times.

Yeah Its kinda annoying without the posts bar.....Mods/Admins can we please have it back?

It might make sense to get rid of the Events feature at the bottom of the forum and add back in the Recent Post's bar, as I expect that more people use that feature.

An answer soon would be lovely, mods. :tongue:

I think the calendar should be removed myself, because since it's came, TiBB has been going slow.

That's a good idea. I use the recent posts bar very often but I don't really use the events calendar. I'm not so bothered about the recent gallery bar either.

And of course, I love the search and custom statuses :laugh:

I just got back from Xmas holidays, so will be looking into why TiBB is running slow.

The features that got turned off aren't gone forever, I imagine James was just trying to find out what was causing it :thumbs:

I'll keep you updated after I've spoken to the guy who hosts TiBB tomorrow.

The recent post thing actually makes TiBB faster in a matter of speaking..


because with that there we just have to click once and we're in the post.. bbut without it we have to click on the right forum.. and then go through the pages looking for it and then click on it ...

so it saves loading a pile of pages to !

I haven't been on as much lately, just because of the site being slow etc. - as well as the fact that my Internet has been playing up as well. It is a little weird without the Search option/ recent posts bar - they're great and I use them more than I realised. Now that it's gone, I'm remembering what this site was like before it was introduced - which was only recently! TiBB's still slow for me as well, but I think it's a good idea to sort out any underlying problems now before the forum gets really busy (as it tends to).
