Has anyone noticed the wee smiley icon that comes up beside the webpage title in the title bar? lol. I know this is stupid, but I think it's really nice! lol. Or is it just my pc?

It is called a favicon

Us webdesigners sometimes put them in the root directory of a website to have that effect

for reference the filename of these graphics will always be favicon.ico

Firefox tends to render them very well when on I.E it tends to be hit or miss.
