A Winge
Hope you dont mind me letting off steam but I am about to approach melt down.
Occasionally I have parcels delivered which the Post Office cant 'squash, tear, rip etc' through our letter box. They then very helpfully leave me a little card telling me to phone and arrange for delivery. Fat chance. Once again I have had my telephone on redial trying to get through to that number from 9.00am to 11.30am when the office closes. !!!!! Continuously engaged or if you do manage to get through it rings and rings and then cuts itself off. Still they open at 7.00am so perhaps I just may be able to get through then. Anyone else got anything they want to get off their chest. |
Dispatches on Channel 4 tonight is saying that the Post Office is not all that it's cracked up to be. :conf: Dunno, I've generally found them to be pretty reliable.
Not really a winge but the other day I got on the wrong train. Doh! |
It's not nearly as annoying as Parceline, who put a note through your door on weekday mornings saying you were out, that if you are out again they will retain it for 3 days and then return to sender.
They helpfully add that you can pay to have it dropped off at a post office, or collect from their depot (20 miles away). The final option, which I imagine most go for in desperation, is that you absolve them of all responsibilty, sign a little chitty and let them leave it on the doorstep. It's the one downside to internet purchases - they tend to use them a lot. As for the good old PO - don't always get it right, but thei depot is only a mile away.... |
