How the hell did Kylie beat Rihanna i mean for **** sake.

Because IMO (and obviously others), Kylie is 100 times better than Rihanna

X is a joke in comparison to Good Girl Gone Bad or As I Am. Rihanna and Alicia Keys were much worthier candidates. I don't know if it was a sympathy vote, but it was certainly a terrible choice.

Kylie is a legend in this industry, Rihanna is a new girl, too fresh to be a rival against Kylie.
It's like if you put Madonna against Amy Winehouse.

Umbrella,Dont Stop the Music and Shut UP And Drive are all better then 2Heats and Wow IMO.I can understand why Alicia didnt get it as shes not as big in the UK as she is in every other country.

Rubbish. Kylie is extremely talented, and her music is well very well appreciated in the industry.

but from 2007 Kylie released one good song(2 Hearts) and Rihanna released an amazing song(Umbrella) and 2 good songs so Rihanna deserves way more.and al reviews and sales clearly state Rihannas album is better

She won because she has an incredible album out, amazing singles, and no, maybe not as successful as Rihanna, but success doesn't necessarily mean anything. Kylie DESERVED that award as much as any of the other nominees, and I think it's unfair to say she got the sympathy vote.

Why was it the sympathy vote though? People may prefer Rihannas music in 2008, but it doesnt mean it was the sympathy vote.

Excuse me but the day Rihanna will do what Kylie has done in the industry (a revolution literally) then you will claim that Kylie is rubbish because so far, Rihanna provided 3 good songs and 2 albums and Kylie is there for more than 20 years.

yeah but in 2007 Kylie released one song and Rihanna released 4.im 1000% sure that over 90% of people would agree that in 2007 Rihanna was the better artist.in this case 10/20 years doesent matter.

And by the way, people say it's the "sympathy vote" because she had a cancer ? This is just ridiculous, with what happened to her, she managed to make such an amazing album and great live performances.

And regading the sales: I think your forgetting Rihannas album came out in the summer, Kylies was out in like November

So what's the matter about the number of songs they released ?
So explain me how Kylie won with 90% thinking Rihanna was better ? I mean, people don't really care what year it is, and I definately much prefer Kylie's than Rihanna's, at least it's original.

Although I would've preferred Rihanna to win, I don't think it's possible that Kylie won through votes of sympathy.

The public didn't have any hand in voting for the 'International Female', it was down to a select panel, including members of record companies, sponsors, producers etc.

What annoys me is that people claim she's "amazing" and an "inspiration" for getting through breast cancer, whilst there's millions of woman with breast cancer who don't have all that money to pay for the treatment, and who don't have the international support and are able to get the top doctors in the world. Surely those women are more inspirational than Kylie and deserve to be called so more than her?
