~Kizwiz~ 12-03-2008 01:05 PM

Errm... no they arent boring at all.

For most adults its very important part of our economy and lifestyle.

Jackie 12-03-2008 01:16 PM

Yes these budgets are important to our household and families,i see Family Allowance is going up,good about time. Now bring down electric and gas and food and........................!

Captain.Remy 12-03-2008 02:25 PM

Budgets mean a lot for households. I'm studying Buisness at school and we learnt that it's a big point in the economy of a country. Budgets make your lifestyle.

By the way, petrol, drink, fags, tax may take part in the budgets because how are you going to pay all of this ? It's not hard to understand, at all. It's very useful, just ask your parents what they think about that.

Sod_James 12-03-2008 02:31 PM

I find them quite interesting. funny thing that most ppl find them boring. like i can sit and watch the state opening of parliment and stuff like that which most ppl consider boring.

But na budgets are quite important and every year i make sure i watch it.

Dan_ 12-03-2008 04:07 PM

I find it quiet interesting really, after all it's important to take an interest in matters that have an effect in our everyday life.

Shaun 12-03-2008 04:21 PM

They're not meant to be entertaining...

Scarlett. 12-03-2008 05:40 PM

Aye they are boring, the Government sitting around working how much money they are gonna squeeze out of the people who have worked hard for it

Tom 12-03-2008 05:43 PM

I think theyre boring but at the same time they are interesting. I can't believe you think it won't affect you.

Obviously, by reading this post, the goverment i realise have made a awfull budget!

What about schooling!

No, without budgets are country would be a mess. People moan about increases, but they are needed.

Shaun 12-03-2008 05:52 PM

I think the increases on cigarettes, petrol and alcohol are things that nobody can complain about really. We're running out of oil, so it's only natural it costs more. And cigarettes and alcohol are harmful, so it acts as a deterrent (albeit a not very effective one).

Scarlett. 12-03-2008 05:58 PM

Why dont they rise taxes on fatty foods, its as bad as Cigs and worse than booze

Kids of 7 years old dont smoke or drink, but they eat, and some of them, too much, it'd be a good idea as it'd help stablise the ecomony when the world is facing a Finacial crash

The government claim they are needed.

For all the taxes we pay, we never see any improvement in this country...

Labour just tax and spend and tax and spend.

Two words:

Binge drinking.

It's as serious a problem as fatty foods.

Having said that, whilst fatty foods may be a problem - what right do the government have to tell us what to eat?

Scarlett. 12-03-2008 06:15 PM

Well it'd be good as a temporary measure, until the World Economy heals

Surely the cost of everday items rise. Surely people need hospitals and schools. Surely the taxes will need to rise.

I wouldnt say they are exactally worse. But fatty foods have no tax on them, yet a big sector of the NHS budget goes on those overweight. If you are larger, you will generally have a worse health.

Maybe so, but all you ever hear/see in the news is about how the NHS are blowing money on this and that, and how test scores are low, etc.

I thought, when you raise taxes, that services such as hospitals and schools are meant to improve :puzzled:

Agreed, Hospitals are having to build King Size toilets, money that could be better spent
