Kerry Katona has gone into labour with her forth child after her waters broke five weeks early.

The reality TV star was rushed to hospital in the middle of the night by her husband Mark Croft and it was expected she would give birth today.

Kerry, 27, was believed to be in the middle of filming the final episodes of her controversial MTV fly-on-the-wall show, Crazy In Love, when her contractions began.

The drama was thought to have been caught on camera even though she had reportedly decided to pull out of the show.

The couple already know the baby is a boy and are planning to call him Max.

Her spokeswoman said: "Kerry is doing brilliantly, this is the bit she loves.

"Obviously it is five weeks earlier than expected but it is within the safe zone.

"Doctors are monitoring her labour and will make a decision on whether she should be induced later on."

Celebrity spokesman Max Clifford said that the former Atomic Kitten was pleased the pregnancy was finally coming to an end.

"It's been a very tough couple of weeks, she's the size of a house and her legs have been swollen – that's why we've brought filming to an end," he told OK magazine.

She has been in Macclesfield Hospital since yesterday morning.

Her pregnancy has been plagued with health concerns and rumours of drug-taking and drinking, allegations which she has denied.

The mother-to-be has only been out of hospital for two weeks after doctors feared she was suffering from the potentially fatal condition pre-eclampsia.

However, Kerry was given the all-clear but was admitted to rehab at the end of March to be treated for bipolar disorder and filming for her reality show was suspended.

Her husband Mark, 37, was believed to have taken his heavily pregnant wife to hospital.

It was recently alleged that he slept with with a barmaid he met in a nightclub in July.

The couple, of Warrington, Cheshire, parents to one-year-old Heidi.

Kerry is also has two girls with ex-Westlife star Brian McFadden - Molly, six, and Lilly-Sue, five.

LOL, I can't remember what she used to look like, so I don't know.

What ticks me off about her is she constantly whines to be liked when she's openly admitted in the press that she smokes, drinks and takes drugs - and this is during her pregnancy. Does she actually believe the public will approve of that? I have nothing against her other than that.

But what I dont know is who tipped off the press she was in labour??

We only normally hear once the baby is born.

Thats a little bit too much press dependent in my opinion.

I really dont approve of her smoking/drinking/taking drugs during pregnancy, and she is so open to the press about it, why? Its just giving her more of a bad reputation. Goodness knows how she won celebrity mum of the year.

I think the press know because shes has that programme, Kerry Katona:Crazy In Love, and there filming her during the birth. So Mtv were notified when she was in labour.

The thing about this pregnancy is nobody is remotely interested. The last few times there might have been a tiny tiny tiny amount of interest but with the amount of celebrities that are up the duff or have given birth in the past 6 months, well it would be easier to single out who isn't or hasn't been pregnant. I wonder how long it is before she finds herself expecting child #5.

That was released to the press and then hours later another release was given saying that she had changed her mind and it had not and MTV would film the birth.

All this whilst she was in labour? Sounds like a change of heart or OK! couldn't make it in time so other routes to get noticed had to be taken. Either that or it was a (failed) PR stunt to get people to watch.

Sounds about right.

She is fame mad. I used to really like her until she didnt give a stuff about her unborn child and still carried on her party ways while carrying her baby. Thats just disgusting in my opinion

Viewers of MTV show Crazy In Love on April 28 will see former Atomic Kitten star Kerry going into labour in bed at the couple's Warrington home. As she announces to former cabbie Mark that her waters have broken, his excitement is such that...he carries on playing a computer game. Classy, eh?

Kerry, now mum of FOUR at 27, says: "I woke up. Mark was on his Xbox and I just lay there watching him for a bit. Then I sat up and went, ‘Ooh, the waters have gone'. How calm was I? Cool as a cucumber."

Then, in a clear reference to Kerry's three previous natural deliveries, Mark, 37, adds: "Truth is she's so used to it. She's had loads of them, hasn't she?"

Max was born on Friday in Macclesfield General Hospital five weeks prematurely weighing 5lbs 4oz. A source on the show told us: "Kerry got that boy out in THREE PUSHES. It was a natural birth and everything seemed to go smoothly. She allowed our cameras there to record it all."

Viewers will see her being handed her baby and saying: "Hello, Mister."

The News of the World revealed how Kerry, now famous for her cheesy Iceland TV ads, took cocaine throughout her pregnancy, telling a pal: "It's OK, you can wean the baby off the coke afterwards."

She also drank wine and smoked 20 cigarettes a day.

So good luck Max (the baby, not the PR). You'll need it, son.
