Shaun\'s Topical Barometer #2

Well, since my first one went thoroughly unnoticed last year in the Interactive Archive, and since Sticks advised me to do these in the General Chat board, here I am.

As I'm sure you might have seen in a number of my posts, I'm an opinionated guy. You may also have noticed that I tend to let loose with an awful lot of profanities, but...well...that's the way I am

With the recent surge in threads giving out opinions and asking what you hate/love, I thought I'd revive my Alan Carr-style topical barometer, albeit without the overused phallic innuendos. :bored:

What's hot? - Summer, baby.
Let's make the most of the sun whilst it's here folks! If it's anything like previous years, our Summer will be over before June anyway, so I plan on making the most of it

- Manchester United's "Don't Rain On My Parade" failing
Haaaa. Because of the troubles on Wednesday night with the Rangers fans, Manchester United's victory parade to celebrate winning the Premiership is cancelled! As an Arsenal fan this is music to my ears

----------------------------------------

The Luke-warm section. - Big Brother is back...
Hmm. Do I like the eye or don't I like the eye? Do I care or don't I care? I just don't know. :conf2:

----------------------------------------

What's not? - 90s pop band reunion tours.
New Kids On The Block, now known as Old Has-Beens on the Dole, have reformed for a glorious tour to commemorate and celebrate their fantastic hits like...err...

Didn't work for the Spice Girls. Isn't working for Boyzone. Won't work for you.

And I'm not keen on Take That, either.

- Burmese rule

Poor Burmese and Chinese people. Not only have they been subject to horrible natural disasters, but the former (also known as Myanmar) is now suffering at the hands of a sceptical and oppressive military junta, detemined not to open their doors quite wide enough for all UN/charity aid.

In my opinion it's utterly disgusting to deprive your people of much-needed aid, and the sooner this regime is overthrown, the better.

Do discuss. I love a good natter. :]

When Take That got back together - it was the best thing since sliced bread. When the Spice Girls reunited - it was pretty awesome too. But Boyzone - Am I Bovvered?

Princess 16-05-2008 10:59 PM

Well I'm sure you know my opinion on Take That  Who are going back into the studio to write a new album soon, yay!!!!

I don't like the sun cos its distracting me from study,so grr the sun.

Oh and to be perfectly honest,I don't really care about BB this year *hides*

Shaun 16-05-2008 11:02 PM

Lol, I thought that might prompt a response from you, Princess

I liked "Shine" before Morrisons overused it, and Patience was a pretty good comeback single...but I didn't like their original (90s) stuff.

What's going up Shaun? :joker:

I hate where artists release amazing songs, but the radio and shops play it so much that it makes you go mad. Yes, one of those examples is Shine and another is Apologise by One Republic.

"Didn't work for the Spice Girls."

Well they got £10'000'000 each for the tour. If that is "not working" can I have some of that failure please.

Sure, they made some money. But their single was a flop, there wasn't the same "Girl Power" buzz around them as there was in the 90s.
