True, I hope they don't ban them (I think Shaun's already been banned?).

I enjoy MrLuvaLuva's posts.

Shaun wasn't banned cos he left, he was breaking the rules.

They don't just ban people for no reason, so stop with the ridiculous conspiracy theories that the "powers" are tyring to quash the members. The admins and mods work on this site to the benefit of general members. If those members then choose to make it harder for the admins to maintain stability then of course they're gonna get a warning.

Just because a member is a big player on TiBB doesn't mean they're not going to get warnings or banned. They're not trying to 'shut people up' and I'm sure you'd all expect new members to get warnings if they broke rules - the same applies to old and established members.

Furthermore, yes it's sad that Baz has left. He was one of the best members on here, always very friendly and eager to chat to anyone. He made very good posts and liked by all. However, there has already been suggestions in the thread that admin/mods are slightly to blame for him leaving. Give Baz some respect, he has free will - he left at his own accord.

That is correct. But there is a lot more to this than meets the eye. He broke the rules because he was angry about something on tibb.

An administrator can ban any member for any reason they wish. If you opened a forum Lauren, you could do the same thing. In Shaun's case, he did break the forum rules and was issued a warning for doing so. But as James has pointed out, he intends to keep Shaun banned for much longer than is normal and he has given his reasons for doing so Click Here Shaun also came back as a Girl and Mark made this post Click Here Then Billy21 started this thread Click Here It is a shame that these sort of incidents have to occur, but when members become unhappy - this can happen!

Admin deleted this bit... there is no way I can let someone say that here... what you said there was blatent forum bullying. James

It does depend on who it is.

Member "moses455" has had 6 warnings against him now and yet he is allowed to continue posting, even though his intentions are always to cause unrest and upset. Some other members haven't been so lucky and have been banned for much less. Also, we've all seen plenty of unfair issuing of warnings from time to time. One male moderator tends to enjoy that - well, thats the feeling generally!

Baz is a great member. You Lauren are a great member. Stropz and nodisharmony were great members in their own way. The same can be said for many members on this forum. But when problems arise on a Big Brother forum, it is upto the Mods and Admins to deal with it. The feeling generally is that warnings and bannings are dealt with unfairly. Admin deleted this bit also... see above. James

That's what I think

Then the problem lies with him. If everyone reacted defensively when they were angry at something and broke the rules then our nation would be full of murderers and law-breakers. Rules are there to be enforced to maintain order. Shaun was a brilliant member, but he chose to break rules to get his point across and so his point automatically becomes void.

Edit. James
Mods are not there to 'create a nice environment'. He is a member too, but ultimately he is there to reinstore order when people decide to break rules. He shouldn't have to 'create a nice atmosphere' - just because people are breaking rules. The nice atmosphere should come from members respecting the mods and not making their job more difficult.

The mod in question (and his 'girlfriend'), are very very much liked by myself. I can't see anything they/he have done wrong. If anything, the only points you've brought forward against the mod is that his views of what deserves a warning/ban is subjective to other mods/admins. But this is the same throughout the different mods, of course people are subjective when compared against others.

He already had 2 warnings from previous occasions so I don't think it would've took much.

lastone 21-05-2008 02:02 PM

Sorry Lauren, had to clear this up, it was just the 1 before the banning I got yesterday.

Thanks for the kind words, btw. And I completely understand the ban, as I said something completely out of order, I just think the way it's been dealt with is a bit sad, really.

Still, speak soon :P

Ah right, sorry - I saw yesterday you had 2 warnings, but didn't realise the second one was the banning one! Thought there must have been a third one too.

Speak soon!
