Reality shows comes to a shocking end after 608 days
 

After 608 days, Dutch reality TV show 'De Gouden Kooi', or 'The Golden Cage', came to a shocking end on Thursday night.

The reality TV show saw seven people living inside a mansion. At the beginning their was no end date, instead the last person standing would win the mansion. However, as the show went on it began to decline in viewers and the show came to an end.

In total there was 19 housemates. Three were ejected, eight walked, four were evicted until just four remained.

Of that four, only one of them had been in the house since Day 1, Brian. The others entered on day 132 (Amanda), day 80 (Huub) and day 157 (Jaap).

Huub was the public favorite to win the series of mouths, but when the votes were counted it didnt work out that way.

Huub was evicted in forth place with 19.1%. A shocking result. Huub was the house Romeo/ma-*****. He slept with 3 different female housemates, married one of the housemates and was a "play thing" for one of the gay housemates.

Next out was Amanda, with 29.17%. She was the last female in the house. While in the house she began a relationship with Brian, and from what I saw she spent most of the time half-naked.

In second place was the longest lasting housemate - Brian. After 608 days, he missed out in winning by 1.86%. Brian was evicted with 49.07%.

The winner was Jaap, with 50.93%. His fellow housemates voted his the most popular (or most unpopular) a week previous and it seemed the public agreed. He spent a total of 451 days in the house.

I have enjoyed following this show. It was very popular in Netherlands, and I think it is the new generation of reality TV. It is created by John De Mol, the same man who came up with the concept of 'Big Brother' so you never know, we might see a version hit UK TV soon.

Too controversial for the UK. I doubt it would last so I don't think we'll get it.
