Britain\'s Got Talent star \'is poisoned\'

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/

ONE of the favourites to win tonight’s final of Britain’s Got Talent is being guarded around the clock amid fears she could be poisoned.

A ring of steel has been thrown around border collie Gin in case a jealous showbiz rival tries to nobble her.

The talented pup has already survived one mystery poisoning incident. And there are fears that the attacker might strike again – or attempt a dognapping.

College student Kate Nicholas and her dancing dog Gin have become firm favourites with telly fans. But their success has made some rivals in the cut-throat showbiz world green with envy.

Gin has already suffered one poisoning that left her on the verge of death, but made a miracle recovery.

Kate, 16, has been keeping a close eye on her beloved six-year-old pet – the UK’s first multi-million-pound hound.

Gin has been sleeping in the bathroom of Kate and her mum Tina’s hotel room in London ahead of the show.

Tonight the dog will wear a “blinged-up” £900 silver collar. But it is the security of Gin herself that Kate is worrying about the most.

A source revealed: “She and her family are going to extraordinary lengths to keep Gin safe.

“Kate cannot bear the thought of anything happening to Gin – she’s her best friend and soulmate.

“She can’t bear the thought of someone harming Gin or stealing her. Until Britain’s Got Talent came around, Gin was happy sleeping outside in a kennel the family’s other dogs. But she’s too valuable for that now.

“She’s become one of the hottest showbusiness properties around. There are a lot of cranks out there who might try to steal such a talented dog and hold her to ransom, or do her harm.

“Kate won’t take her eyes off her until the final’s safely out of the way.”

Gin has already survived one attack. Kate found her lying lifeless in the garden of the family home in Whitchurch, Shropshire, two years ago.

Kate recalled: “I thought she was dying. It was the worst day of my life.”

A vet diagnosed poisoning and gave the dog little hope of surviving. Kate added: “The vet said that, even if she did recover, she would never dance again, play games or perform her acrobatics.

“We took her home and, gradually over the next two weeks, the poison worked its way out of her system. The vet couldn't believe the recovery she had made.”

It was some months before Gin – named because she enjoys a tipple – was up to her old tricks.

Tonight, she will perform in front of millions of viewers and judges Simon Cowell, 48, Piers Morgan, 43, and Amanda Holden, 37, in the hope of winning the £100,000 prize.

Piers has already dubbed Gin the “most talented dog in the world”.

Thats just horrible to say that.

You would wish a dog dead just to see someone win a competition ?

Anyone who would even think about that needs some serious help imo x

When did I say, I wished the dog was dead? I just think that George deserves it much more and that hopefully the rightful winner will win because of it.
