No Shelter

I'm surprised to see that there will be no shelter for the smokers.

Barbie 01-06-2008 08:06 AM

Yeah i thought there would be as well because of weather... maybe they decided such privileges shouldn't be given just because they smoke
housemates weren't allowed to smoke in the house before the ban anyway were they?

Stupid 01-06-2008 08:09 AM

i can just see people smoking inside when its raining

bmd 01-06-2008 08:12 AM

it seems very strange not to have a shelter for smokers, they had one last year. it could cause arguments and punishments. if it is wet and cold outside and a smoker smokes inside, big brother could be in a lotof trouble for law breaking.

They can smoke anywhere in the garden. There's a bit of cover by the pool here:

yes but you would expect shelter over the smoking area

max 01-06-2008 09:43 AM

maybe it's an early punishment for smoking.

jamesh 01-06-2008 09:46 AM

how is it law breaking. It is Big Brother's premisis and they can decide weather they can smoke anywhere or not.

A ban on smoking in England was brought into force last July, preventing people from smoking in bars, cafes etc., as well as places of work.

Officials at Hertsmere council, the council that governs the area the Big Brother house is located in, deemed the Big Brother house to be a workplace, hence housemates are only permitted to smoke in the garden.

Chemicle 01-06-2008 12:27 PM

you never know, they might not be any smokers in the house. or maybe theres another garden:cheer2:

Fom 01-06-2008 12:45 PM

unless the second garden is inside there isnt another garden and therefore they wouldnt be able to smoke in there anyway :P

BigBrotherfan4ever 01-06-2008 12:46 PM

This could cause war in the house if the smokers have to stand out in the rain to smoke, or on the other hand maybe none of the HM's smoke this year

Jamie..... 01-06-2008 01:28 PM

no shelters for smokers because this time big brother is being harsh

No

The reason is that if there is a shelter, then the smoking ban will apply.

It is because of this that smoking under bus shelters is considered illegal
