Thread Limits/Post Restrictions/New type of thread search facility
 

Now I know this was brought up last year, and I'm just trying to twist it a little.

Over the last couple of days I've noticed, along with other members, a surge in the same type of threads. Now it's surely only common sense to look and see whether the thread you're wanting to post already exists.

During Peak times, especially during evictions/twist shows etc, there should be a 'thread limit', or a facility as to when you put a title on your thread it can lead you to a thread with a similar name.

Kinda like what YouTube does when you search for something now

[xxx amount of suggestions]

This would hopefully stop the flurry of un-needed threads.
I do notice that if there are 4 threads on [for example : Mohammed dread-locking his hair] then surely, you as a poster don't need to type the same response in each thread.

Just a suggestion that is all.

At the moment the search post feature is down, though - so members can't search whether the same thread exists.

I mean in the 'subject title'

the BB9 & BB9 HM section desperatly need to be cleaned.because...
1)theres so many threads in the BB9 section that should be moved to the individual HM sections
2)theres about 10 threads on each topic so they need to be merged.

Ah yeah, true. Some people post the same thing even when theres a thread on the exact same thing a few threads down.

It's like yesterday there were no less than 5 save steph threads?

do we really need that many threads?

Right, I've got out the Admin. brush and duster, and had a good old clean out in the BB9 Section, moving the vast majority of topics about one individual housemate into the appropriate sub-section. :thumbs:

The merging of similar threads will have to wait until later ..... bear with us, please .... it's a bit like stopping water getting into the Titanic at the moment! :laugh:

Any assistance from members in ensuring threads are started in the correct section, and not just all 'plonked' in the BB9 section would be much appreciated. Ta very much. :xyxwave:

Can maybe you pin a rule thread like you did for BB8?
